Hey y'all. This is my first post outside of my Intro, and its a long one, so buckle-up, buttercups.

I am one of those unfortunates who, once having bronchitis as a child living in the Ohio Valley, it comes back at least once a year, mostly due to weather changes or severe allergies. Its usually no big deal - I'll feel sick a few days, fuzzy-brained, mucus on overload, annoying cough, etc. you get the picture. It will resolve itself in about a week.

When I started Tirz in October of last year, I had just gotten over a chest cold. After about a month in, the chest cold came back. And each time I'd shake it, it would come right back after five or six days. For the first time in my life, I was experiencing chronic bronchitis. It lasted in total six weeks. I was miserable.

I stayed in constant contact with my doctor's office, visiting regularly to make sure I didn't have pneumonia, etc. I had also worried that it was, in some way, connected to the Zepbound (insurance was covering it then). I was told that it was just an unfortunate relapse cycle in my body and that I would eventually shake it. Which I did.

Then, I started Reta about three weeks ago. I'm currently pinning 4mg Reta on Friday, then 7.5mg Tirz on Monday, with plans on titrating Reta up while keeping Tirz the same or taking it down to 5-6mg. Anywho, I got a chest cold after about a week and a half after pinning Reta for the first time. It could be coincidence - the weather in SoCal is tri-polar and there's lots of pollen and smog in the air.

I just wondered if anyone else has had the same kind of reactions to any of the GLP1 peps?

If your immune system is compromised to begin with (mine definitely was after sepsis) the weight loss combined with perhaps lower nutritional input could definitely play a role in repeat episodes.

I keep a host of supplements, multi vitamin, magnesium glicinate, B vitamins and D on board daily because of immune issues.

RS did also run a cycle of Thymosin Alpha 1, MOTS-c and NAD+ which really seemed to increase energy and overall feeling of wellness.

I've gotten one nasty virus at the beginning of my GLP journey and none since layering on the research stack and being diligent on the supplements.

Thank you for sharing this with me. Yes, I do have a compromised immune system. I take it for granted because it normally runs fine. And I totally forgot to even consider the nutritional changes with being in a caloric deficit. I did start a men’s daily multivitamin. And am back on calcium plus vitamin D daily. I’m def interested in that stack. Been seeling a lot about the SS-31, Mots-C, and NAD+ cycle. Tempted to give it a go…

My doc was semi concerned last year about my cholesterol levels last, and my recent blood work maybe 3 weeks ago came back normal. No colds, nada. A odd thing, the pain in my left thumb was enough that I had a hard time holding a glass, can or whatever. I figured arthritis, but now it's almost non existent. This is on Reta.

I dont get sick very often. If anything I've been sick less since tirzepatide. Most likely because my overall health is way better than when I was heavy.

I think glutathione makes a big difference for me too. I could wake up feeling like I may be coming down with something, take a shot of glutathione and im good in an hour

How many mg of glutathione do you take a day?

I haven't been on it long enough to have any meaningful perspective. But, no I haven't had any colds/illness since starting. However, I am curious to see what happens with more time.

I get the Tirz nose drip. That's how I know it's working.

It does not have to be an effect of the drug, it could just be the result of eating less calories or losing weight, any or all of these are going to have some effects on immune function, and of course it could just be random variation, sometimes you just get more viruses or ones that hang around longer. Nothing from the studies suggested it was an issue and I have not seen other people complain about it either so it cannot be a common problem. If I had to guess I would tend to blame randomness / bad luck, but if it is winter then vit d sounds like a good idea as does a multivitamin if not eating lots of healthy food.

Have you tried thymulin or TA-1?

I haven’t got any colds, less than normal. But I am always cold actually freezing get chills at night too before falling asleep.
Me too! But I’ll happily take the trade-off of getting the chills easier. I used to walk around and just have sweat pouting from my scalp and face. It was lowkey embarrassing. That hasn’t happened unless I’ve been exercising and even then it’s not as bad.

Currently overcoming my first sinus infection in 2 years. I think my immune system has improved a lot actually, since Tirz.
