Sounds like you are setting up to be an excellent responder. The first month is what I like to call " The Rebirthing process." Eating clean will dramatically help avoid side effects. Drink 120 oz of water a day. Most hit the exhaustion phase around month two. Deprivation of caloric intake. Take short naps if needed. Once you get that phase managed and course-corrected, you can focus on a titration schedule. I copied the Lilly clinicals, and it worked like magic. Aggressive but not too aggressive. The best jump for me was 7.5 to 10mg.

Those were my experiences as well. My hubs and I started at the same time last July at 2.5mg and right now we’re both still only at 5mg per week. I have shortened my week to 4-5 days and found a great sweet spot but we had no desire to rush higher doses if unnecessary. Plus tirz is the only one we take by way of glp-1. Welcome to the journey!
Thanks for the response. Okay that’s what I am hoping for. Just to stay at a low dose. It is interesting to do a low dose but more often. That might be helpful.

How was the jump from 2.5 to 5?

How was everyone’s first week on tirz? Particularly at 2.5mg. Was the appetite suppression shocking or was there little difference at such a small dose. How about sides?

I’m asking because I just started at 2.5 and I barely finish my meals if I do. I don’t have any food noise and don’t have any desire to snack. No real side effects. Is this common? Does your tolerance go up and that’s why people titrate? At this point if nothing changes I don’t know if I’ll ever go above 2.5mg cause this is fine for me.
Ya, if it aint broke don't....I was like you but at the end of the 5days all the food noise came crashing back in so I'd go up a notch and that's been the way for all dosages. I just started 10mg. YMMV...Food will power never was my strong point...

dont go up unless it's not working and your stalled for 3-4 weeks. my first week or two was like that, and then it faded. currently on 10. i don't respond awesome to it but im down 30 in 6 months so we keep on. it's kinda nice not wanting to smash a bag of doritos all the time
Congrats on the 30 lbs. that’s awesome. I know what you mean about not wanting to snack all the time. I was constantly in the pantry

Given you have had strong positive effects rather than side effects from a low dose, you probably cannot rely on other peoples doses or schedules to guide your dosing. Responses to these medications is quite individual and variable. It is super early but it certainly sounds like you are quite sensitive to its effects on reducing hunger, and as you are not describing adverse effects, without nausea etc. So not extra sensitive to side effects. This means you are lucky to have that combination, and it is a promising sign. If the degree of hunger control is fine, as in you are not forcing yourself to eat less than you feel like, and you are losing weight, you do not need to increase doses. The odds are that at some point you will probably have to a bit. I do not believe there is any evidence of tolerance to their effects in causing weight loss long term, but there is definitely some tolerance or adaptation occurring in the first few months of starting treatment, so if you find yourself getting more hungry or stop losing weight up the dose then. I think most people are better off on the standard doses overall, but if it is working fine at a low dose it is working fine. But increase doses based on weight and hunger and decrease them if side effects become a problem.

This advice would be a bit different if you were older , had severe obesity ( bmi over 35 ), or obesity related health problems. In that case slowly increasing doses towards the standard 15mg is probably a better idea for long term health benefits.

Thanks for sharing. 85lbs is incredible! Is the shorts app worth paying for? On the trial right now

Thanks for the advice. It is helpful. I’ll go through the first month and re evaluate. It seems the consensus from everyone is no need to titrate up if the current dose is working.

I started with 4 weeks of 2.5mg Mounjaro pens. i could feel it within an hour.

I wish everyone could start out with real authentic stuff. That way you know what it feels like. And what it feels like to get watered down shit. (My next move was compounded shit) indeed, if it starts to fail, it's later in the week.

Coming up on a year, what I've learned: I stay true to the plan, but if I feel like I'm breaking through, I pin the overfill. (Like a booster) mind you the overfill, usually .15ml but obviously the concentration changes as one titrates up. My plan currently, is 15mg max., but with overfill, about 19.5mg. Yeah, but I'm still a big cryptid.

I started at 250 mcg or .25mg and the appetite suppression is real. I have been water fasting without any issues, something I had done before with a lot more effort and temptation.

Some people don't feel anything at 2.5mg and need higher doses to get the full effects of tirzepatide. Sometimes they'll post that they don't feel anything and are still ravenous. So, consider yourself lucky that you're getting the benefits at such a low dose without the side effects.

I was also in the "camp" of low and slow when I first started reading about glp-1s. But, when I really read the clinical studies in depth, it became clear to me that people lost more weight on higher doses and more people achieved their weight loss goals on higher doses. Having a lot of weight to lose, I knew I didn't have a lot of time to screw around with 2.5mg for a long period of time, so I titrated up fairly aggressively. But all my side effects were minor and tolerable, but I didn't wait for 3 or 4 week for stalls.

The guidance from Lilly and what is happening in clincial settings has changed since the clincials. The advice now is to titrate up if you're not losing weight or experiencing food noise/hunger cues, as long as your sides effects are well managed. No need to titrate up otherwise. But what I fear for some folks, is that they get stuck on the idea that lower is "better" and after a year at 7.5mg complain that they haven't reached their weight loss goal.

hi c: i recently (yesterday) started tirz at 2.2mg and it's so subtle (no side effects), that i wasn't sure if it even works lol. but today i have no food noise. no voice in my brain telling me it's a good idea to eat more food because i'm bored or something. i literally had to tell myself, "yeah i guess eating is a good idea." i'm not hungry. my only side effects on the first day was the anxiety i gave myself for wondering if this is even a good idea, but i'm over it 😀

I lost the first thirty some pounds at 2.2. I had to start titrating to get the next 25 off. I'm six pounds from goal (20.8 BMI is goal) and was at 9 mg per week when I switched to reta last week so I can see whether it's a good fit for me and therefore I should continue hoarding it.

both times that i started back on tirz i always got violently sick almost exactly 36 hours after my shot, explosive exits on both ends if you catch my drift. and food volume immediately got cut in half. thats why i only take 1.25mg every 8 days right now. it does what i need it to do and i use it to the best advantage i can. i previously lost about 50ish pounds without going up past 2.5mg before insurance issue and finding this place. but i also kept off any unwanted weight for the 6 months i was off

Wow that’s awesome! Yeah I remember how weird it felt to not be hungry. Seems like you are responding well though.

I will say I am 5 weeks in now and I noticed that my body kind of got used to it. I started to graze food a little more and noticed food noise. I’m still eating way less though.

I also started to get very irritated after about a week and a half to three weeks. It was pretty annoying but I think it was mostly dehydration and lack of calories. So I did a fast to force my body to start using fat for fuel and submit to the calorie deficit and started taking magnesium to help with electrolytes. I feel a lot better now and am really hitting a stride.

I also only titrate up to 3 mg. Idk just didn’t feel like I needed to go higher but we’ll see.

Wow it’s crazy how our bodies respond so differently. I jut titrate up to 3 cause I felt like 5 would be too much. I’m hoping I don’t have to go too high to get my goal weight. I’m also of the mind that I’d like to put some work on myself to lose the weight.
