Sadder still is how these kids feel like they NEED these things, to date, have friends, or keep up appearances, etc. I don’t have kids so I am not in tune with what’s going on with certain generations but it sounds real rough.
Well, pal, I look at it this way. I just consider this hypothetical scenario. If I had been 18 today, would I take these peps or optimizers? Or to put it in another way, if all of these tools had been available when I was eighteen, would I have used them? Oh hell yeah ! I would have, with even more enthusiasm than I have now.
And you have already answered why. You're spot on. You see, we oldies take it to get healthier, rejuvenated, refreshed, or whatever, right? But for a growing adult, they can customize their journey to the best version of themselves. I was an obese fvck all my life. Why wouldn't I choose to change that ASAP? And the fact that you just mentioned- dating. I would call it mating, but that's besides the point. See, it's like college. A Bachelor of Science is a Bachelor of Science degree, whether it is from Alabama or Harvard. But the effects are not quite the same, are they? It's a competitive landscape. The better we are, the better our potential outcomes. There is no denying that. The top "chads" get all the action. The rest get leftovers, especially here in the West. Now, don't get me wrong. This is just one aspect. I mean, do we seriously doubt that better-looking people get more doors open to them? I hate that part of humanity, but it is undeniable.
Finally, and IMO, the most significant part. What we're doing is working against the clock in a defensive campaign, for the most part. We are trying to recover as much as possible of our prime condition. But for them? They have the opportunity to enhance their prime state before it even begins. Strategically, can we discard that as the clear best option? That's why I agree with Thunderbird.
All that clarified, I don't deny that the vast majority of teens out there are woefully moronic and uninformed, but since I am all about liberty, as much as I don't want them to use these gifts- for selfish reasons- I will not dispute the factual reality of their benefits. I mean, to them I would lie to their faces- get rid of competition, but here I can be honest. But, the incompetence of the users cannot take away the veracity of the principle in question, can it?
Why fight obesity when we are older, when we can get rid of it when we are young, thereby extending our peak longer and making it more amazing? IMO, Time is the MOST VALUABLE resource for every human being. The life we get out of every second, life quality, is of paramount significance. That's what I think, anyway. I am sure others would have different opinions on it.
