Storage Cases for the Freezer?

I can't find a definitive answer to this. I see all kings of pictures, and some really nice ones 3D printed. Do you guys/gals recommend storage cases for storing your vials in the freezer? I have 2 kits coming in Wednesday and 3 in about 2 weeks, all Reta.

I'm not sure if it's necessary but I got the Hydropeak thermos with inserts for the freezer. I just liked the idea of an airtight container for my vials that will be in storage for long term. I also have a 3D printed case that I keep the vials I will be using sooner than later. Maybe some of the pros can weigh in on it.

I use a chamber vacuum sealer for long term storage in the freezer, i also monitor them remotely with Yolink wireless thermometers.

While some of mine will be in there for a while, and I'll likely add more. I personally don't need to go to that extreme. Pretty cool though.

Smrt. I use Govee for temp monitoring, it sends push notifications and emails when there's a problem with the fridge. I set this up years ago after losing half a freezer of meat due to a child wanting a popsicle. But it keeps watch over the peptides too.

I posted this recently in another thread, but it bears repeating. This particular screenshot shows the fridge going into defrost mode, and how warm it gets in there, however briefly. Which is why many recommend keeping the peps in an insulated container.

I used a soft lunchbox from WM for 6 months until it ran out of room. It could hold 10 kits and had frozen packs. You don't have to get anything elaborate until you're down the hole with the rest of us rabbits

This is what I use. I put each kit in a zip lock with a desiccant pac. fits 16 kits nicely.

I like it because you can keep them in their original kit plastic box they come in

I've been shamed into looking at the wifi Govee's. I did accidentally leave a fridge door cracked that was being partially blocked last summer. That wasn't pretty, but saved all the frozen side. Just had warm beer for a couple days. Just looked, outside freezer is -9F.

A very good point indeed, i keep mine in an old school NON-auto defrosting freezer for that very reason.

If you have a Harbor Freight near you the Apache cases are extremely durable, airtight, cheap, and have 2 places to add locks. The Apache 1800 can hold almost 200 vials with the inserts I made for myself. The Apache 2800 can hold 32 kits still in the plastic holders and far more with an insert. Plenty of room for ice packs and desiccant packs in both as well.

I do have a HF pretty close. This was one I was looking at on the cheap. It fits 63 3ml.

If that foam insert could be drilled with a hole saw, I'd bite. I can't see how you would do it. They're nice though.

I just take all the foam out. My inserts replace them or the kit cases do. I never thought freezing the foam would be a good idea but I also never tried it

The foam freezes fine I used to use these. I also just put the kit cases inside. on top of some foam...

Now i just store my Bac in there. (not in the freezer obviously)

The middle foam layers are pick to size, precut into squares to remove to fit around what you’re putting in the box.

I was in a hurry to move my stash from the house freezer to the shop freezer before my MIL came for a visit, so I quickly grabbed one of these art supply boxes off of Amazon. (I got pink because it was the cheapest color.) I’m pretty sure I can get a 2nd stack in there, but it’ll be a little tight. For $15, it’s fine for now.

I used these til they got discontinued. When they did, I hurriedly snapped up five more. I have enough to hold all the peps I should ever actually need to store. If I need more, I'll reassess my hoarding impulses and get a couple of hydrapeaks. I dearly love these, though; they're compact, pretty, and I can store thirty vials in them. No inserts, I just put them in facing up, and when it's full, I layer the top with a few silica moisture packs and put the lid on.

Cheap aromatherapy cases on Amazon 63 vials , about $15 au or $10 us. Will keep them in the dark and definitely protect them if you drop something heavy and frozen on them. Always label everything. Not fancy or pretty but do the job.

I accomplished the same thing by labelling my Hydrapeak "Stool Samples"...
