Reta overactive libido

So I’m curious if anybody else has experienced increased “urges” while taking Reta. I’ve read post that suggest it normally decreases your sexual desires. It is doing the exact opposite, I’m really having a difficult time concentrating on anything else. It’s a bit much and I need to get it under control.

I haven't experienced such a problem yet, but now I perceive that I'm gonna have to buy twice the amount of Reta I had originally planned.

That aside, I did once read about loss of inhibition leading to urges, as a side effect of meds. It only affected women, and it was rare, and they put it down to a neurological dysfunction. I'm not sure, but I think it was Ritalin that was the offending drug. Most of the testimonials were about women who indulged and blamed the consequences on the drug. Two women claimed to have overcome the side effect. One said isolation and lowered dosage while the other did cold turkey on and off with a fortnight waiting period. I don't think it would apply here, but since I ascribe to the hormones-controlling-mind idea, I would actively avoid problematic contexts for a start.

Apparently, the problem is more severe in ADD and ADHD patients and it works on the dopamine pathway. Maybe you want to check on impulse controlling dopamine modulators

It's not necessary that you have to be ADHD for this to happen. You may even have to track for triggers, if any. It's the info that this problem is connected to the dopamine malfunction, which is meant to be considered. So, check if any other dopamine triggers would help control the urge- things like that.

Honestly, is it such a bad thing, increased sex drive = more sex, more sex = happy life, weight loss, only thing sexually I have noticed since starting Reta is crazy sexual dreams, Alien sex, robot sex, all kinds of strange stuff, but I suppose it puts a smile on my face when I wake up given I'm single dad and not having to worry what I have said in my sleep

I reckon it would be a bad thing if spouse doesn't match libido, and if she spends a lot of time with other people, and when urges arrive in the midst of some important activity. I've had similar issues once, and it's irritating.

Now someone gets it! Although I’m not in a relationship so it’s even more frustrating. I went to the gym this morning very early hoping I’d be the only one there!! NOOO I WAS WRONG geezz you know I made it all the way to the treadmill and that was the end. I had to turn my ass around and go home.
