Time was the solution in my case. I started at a higher dose of Tirz than most people and felt off for a few months. Those first 3 months felt like I just sat at my office desk or in a recliner and melted.

This went away, but anytime I would bump the dose up, I knew I would feel it for a bit again. It always went away. Eventually, I worked my way up to 15mg every 4/5 days and even at doses that high, I stopped feeling like that.

Hopefully, you'll have a similar outcome. GL

Thank you, but I could't live that way, it was too depressing, - why I went over to reta instead, hoping, it won't do it too.

glad to hear it worked out for you, maybe i'll try again sometime, since i have 3-4 years worth of tirz in the freezer, lol.

I hear ya. Luckily, I'm too dumb to even realize anything was off - as it was happening. I only noticed after I started to return to normal and began wanting to do things again.

GL with reta. Hopefully it is kinder to you than Tirz was.

True, I didn't think about it at first, because well.... but after some time it got worse and worse, so I looked up side effects.

Jesus, this is the first I heard about this. I thought only BPC-157 had issues like this. I take both tirzepatide and BPC-157.

What I do with BPC-157, is to take NAC too, it was said to help regulate serotonin/dopamine something something..

Miss-sanne this is the space I’m in: tirz plus NAD+.

I have tried all 3 of the current GLP-1s (short tries), and had anhedonia on all 3. On sema I got to week three and had to drop it, it was Very Much Not Good. It’s the reason I’ve tried all three, all short term partial doses.

As of today I’m 3 doses of tirz in, with roughly 3/week of NAD. So far it’s “okay” the anhedonia creeps through a tad here and there but the other morning I was cracking dad jokes at 6 am (definitely not my MO at F48, menopause-ish).

I have historically had anhedonia that dipped into depression. Seems likely that places me at greater tendency/ risk.

I am also not consistent with exercise (yet) and it’s a good weapon against this grey fog. 20 minutes of breath-moving activity (which a brisk walk works well for) was helpful for my “run of the mill” variety. Can’t say if it will help with this “induced” type but nothing to lose by trying.

My energy seems a little better than without, not sure it helps where really needed though, read: dopamine. When my energy dips I am definitely crankier than normal.

Wait. NAC… do you mean NAD? Am I on the wrong planet and need to consider something different?

from your lips to god's ears. I've been pretending like I don't have this going on, but I'm starting to sort of be open to the possibility that I do. Working out more helps it, and it WAS starting to fade off when I bumped my dose a month ago, so I'm hoping if I just keep on keeping on, I'll be fabulously healthy AND not so flat.

I think she means NAC, I read it somewhere else, but also NAD: I heard to give energy when anhedone. Do you IM ? because I really can't do it..

I'm 49, and perimenopausal and have history of depression.

I think you are right, it makes a person more susceptible to anhedonia, I also read if you have ADHD, and I do have some degree of ADD, no medicine.

I hope , it's better for you now on tirz, you must go slow. I'm so sorry it happened to you.

I just came to realize, I couldn't do it anymore, I loved tirz so much, but 10-11 mg, and I was just as flat as a pancake.

I do exercise a lot, 6 days a week, and I think, it does give some boost, but couldn't help with that.

Now Reta 5 mg.

N-acetylcysteine (NAC) has shown potential in reducing anhedonia, which is the inability to feel pleasure. Animal studies demonstrate that chronic NAC treatment can reverse anhedonic behaviors in models of depression and other conditions, and this effect is linked to improvements in neurotransmitter levels and brain structure, particularly in areas like the nucleus accumbens, a key part of the brain's reward circuitry. From Gemini AI

I always take the usual 600mg daily dose.

I think there is a bit of pink cloud effect as the first weight comes off and then we have to contend with the loss of a coping behavior as well as the biological (if I do not eat now and keep eating I shall die) cravings. For me, I tried SSRI and then went to bupropion (61yo, F). You never said how much weight you lost/are losing, Miss-sanne.

GLP-1s are believed to work on the same reward centers of the brain triggered by dopamine hits from drugs, alcohol, porn, shopping… all the addictive things, and hence why it’s being studied for SUD treatment. So it would make sense that you’d feel flat when you’re no longer getting a dopamine hit from the things that used to bring you joy, whatever they may be. (For many of us, that used to be food… eating food, thinking about food, planning for food.) I went through something similar a few months in to Tirz, but then it subsided. Been well over a year now and I’m good.

Really not a lot, I was 86 kg, 1,69 cm, and now I'm 76,6 kg.

But it was strange to not be able to enjoy the weight going down, it was just 'oh, am I supposed to be happy or ? '

and yes i really was happy, I've always been normal around 65ish. But i became insulin resistant after kid and since covid, when the weight came on (because I became insulin resitstant. )

I had a little bit of this on Tirz but it didn't last, I switched to Reta (mostly for cost and because I kept hearing how much better it was) but since switching my weight is creeping up, my appetite is up a LOT and I'm struggling with inflammation and back pain.

Not convinced my reta is real, I ordered grey market from IndiaMart and I don't have any appetite suppression at all (up to 10mg now)

Hopefully when my new reta and also some cag turns up in a couple of weeks it'll all be okay, otherwise I'll be going back to tirz.

I had an issue with mood changes. I thought it was perimenopause and stress from an exam I had coming up. I felt when people would talk to me, I didn’t know what to say, words escaped me. I had no emotion and I’m the type to cry at anything! Even when I watched wanda die in dr. strange. I’m sensitive with my patients but I had no emotion. I got on sertaline, but now since I have been feeling better and - weaning off the sertaline (SSRI) the only thing different was a lower dose tirz. Now, I’m thinking if that was the cause.
