Jesus, this is the first I heard about this. I thought only BPC-157 had issues like this. I take both tirzepatide and BPC-157.

What I do with BPC-157, is to take NAC too, it was said to help regulate serotonin/dopamine something something..
NAC in pill form? how much?

I find that the KLOW blend really feels good. and Im doing semax to try to improve my cognitive functions. Both seem to keep me humming.

Also Exercise and music really improve my energy and mood.

Watch the Andrew Huberman vid on You tube about Dopamine. He shares some very useful info and tips to help with dopamine levels.

I had an issue with mood changes. I thought it was perimenopause and stress from an exam I had coming up. I felt when people would talk to me, I didn’t know what to say, words escaped me. I had no emotion and I’m the type to cry at anything! Even when I watched wanda die in dr. strange. I’m sensitive with my patients but I had no emotion. I got on sertaline, but now since I have been feeling better and - weaning off the sertaline (SSRI) the only thing different was a lower dose tirz. Now, I’m thinking if that was the cause.
oh, yes. the no emotion is awful ! I too have a lot of patients, who cries, and I didn't feel sh**, and I'm usually a very emotional person and perimenopausal = can cry over commercials lol.

So, I was on Tirz for a few months, all went well, good weight loss, minimal side effects, I do love Tirz so much. But at the higher doses 10-11 mg, I started to feel so flat, so bummed, depressed, and 'fuck you all, I'm gonna sit here and read reddit all the time', no will to do anything, no joy. Well I had to go to work, but when I got home, I was just like a 'blaaaaah'.

Apparently, a side effect from Tirz, I didn't have it on Sema.

Waited for at bit, but couldn't stand it.

Titrating down at the moment, going up in Reta, a bit of Cagri.

Feel better, have more energy on the other two.

But this could maybe happen again on Reta.

Does anyone know of any supplements etc, they have used or heard of, to help with this anhedonia ?

Thank you.
What your missing, and the cause of your feeling "blah" while on Triz is the Dopamine rush and hits that your brain used to get on a frequent basis before you started using GLP-1s.

Dopamine is the gasoline to the brain's pleasure center fire. When it gets cut back or cut off, blahs and depression becomes more noticable. A lot of us used to get most of our joy from food and eating, it is a key reason for why we were as big as we were....

It’s been a couple weeks, how are things going?

NAD+ helps with energy but not necessarily the blahs. I’ve learned though that if I try to laugh (say at my husband’s dad joke) the feeling follows - as if I have to pay more attention to the feeling and then it’s really there (just a bit muted). Whereas before if I heard the joke while reading I wouldn’t have to think to laugh.

It’s not like my “garden variety” adhedonia that I’ve had before which is weird. That one if I wasn’t going to laugh it wasn’t there, period.

Need some other ideas to try to balance this. I am still very low dose, backed off to 1mg last week. Got the mood light out yesterday, I’ve been to the gym 3 of 4 previous days. usually that is enough to perk me up and I’m fine for the moment but due for a shot.

NAC was recommended somewhere. Thanks for any other input.

I’m beginning to think either this isn’t going to pan out or I need to wait for April, better weather/season. 😢

Thank you so much for writing again.

Actually, I'm fine again, but remember, I titrated down and out of tirz, and instead I'm doing reta now, and it doesn't make me anhedone in the same way, I think.

But I do the NAC supplement, someone recommended, as a capsule every morning. Don't know if it helps really.

My energy is ok, I do exercise 6 days per week.

I haven't tried NAD+ yet.

But I really want to try Pinealon, Semax and Selank, because I'm a bit ADHD, and my sleep is often like sh**.

I'm sorry it's so bad for you, maybe you could try one of those 'brain' peptides, I just mentioned.

And BTW, I usually get a bit depressed around november, it's so dark and cold.

I do have a lamp that does light therapy.

Going to Cyprus next week to get some sun and relax.

If it's too much for you, you could try Cagri for weight loss, it's a different receptor.

Oh, BTW, the low hanging fruits : how much are you eating and do you get enough protein?

If you eat way too little, you will become tired and sluggish.

Thanks for replying! Cyprus sounds lovely, enjoy your trip. 🙂

Yes I am in the northern half of the continental US so the seasonal lack of sun is real. Maybe the brain peptides would help. It’s definitely setting in later than usual which has been a nice surprise.

I’m diagnosed adhd and magnesium has been lovely for sleep, especially with peri/menopause at my door. Brain spins less about the day.

I’ll have to dig in about cagri, thanks.

Ah, protein, I haven’t been tracking closely enough. Thanks for the reminder.

I didn’t mean to put you on the hook for a reply, mainly checking in.

If anyone else cares to chime in I’m open to further thoughts.

sorry that's happening. Do you take Vit D3? that helps I also make tea with Lemon Balm which is supposed to help with mood as well. and of course HRT as drop in hormones does that to me.

I have found that Music, especially the kinds I used to dance to back in the day really help boost happy mood and especially if I listen to them while exercising.

Good luck!

2 for 2, sounds like that's the one I need to listen to! 🙂
I was researching a bit, because why don't I feel anhedone on Reta ?? I'm at 7 mg, so not a low dose. I started feeling 'flat' at Tirz 8-10 mg.

It's suggested that the glukagon part counteracts the GLP-GIP effect on mood. Maybe.

Well, nobody really knows yet.

Just a thought. 🙂

(Also Reta hits receptors differently, can also be a reason)

Yeah some quick digging shows that the glucagon-serotonin connection is there but indirect (as in a chain of events). they tend to move in the same direction.

The whole thing is strange! It’s inconsistent , some people have said they feel better, some flattened. So I agree, I don’t think anyone really knows.

Does reta slow the gut as much as the other two? Medications are anecdotally less effective with slow gut movement.

@desinr-gal —I will have to try the lemon balm, that’s a new one. 🙂

I am always struggling to get enough protein. Tryptophan gets pulled into the equation as a precursor to serotonin. Not sure if all protein . Has tryp? My brain is all over today.

Only way is to see if it's better.

What medications are we talking about ? Yes it's slows the gut, but I don't know how much compared to the others.

I want to try Semax peptide, for focus, concentration etc. Maybe try Pinealon or Selank, but it seems they can make you sleepy, and I don't need to be more sleepy. ;-)

I like semax, in small doses. I accidentally started way too high and couldnt sleep. It does help my brain wake up. I'm not too sure about staying on task though..

Selank was making me too sleepy, even combined with semax.

I too am curious about pinealon.

yes i was just reading up on those 3 peptides. What dose did you start on ?

I read 100-300 micg ?

I also read about cortexin.
