I am happy for you to have that reaction to a low dose. God knows I wish I did but I am on private prescription of mounjaro and felt 0 effects until I hit 12.5mg. some people are more sensitive to medication than others.

I'm not really at low dose levels yet - I guess 1 -15mg dose every two weeks would be similar to taking 7.5 every week. I think this whole process will be different for everyone. No shame in doing whatever works for you, individually. This is just what I'm doing.

I had strong suppression effects at 10mg, but kept ramping up to keep that feeling. After 2 years, the days of noticable appetite suppression are long gone and I was tired of chasing it. The most important thing is that we stay healthy as possible, and who knows if what I was doing was actually okay long term. I'm happy where I am and now I'm ready to test slowly coming off if I can tolerate it...without regaining. We will see - I'm optimistic, but I can also see a scenario where I'm popping on and off this stuff my entire life.

My Doc and I are friends. The bastard got me on this ride, then turned poster child. He never got higher than 5mg. Lost 70 or 80 lbs. Then quit altogether. He keeps a stock, just in case. I also do believe some are more sensitive and some are more resistant.

Which makes me wonder, if and when I go to maintenance dose, if stopping or skipping for a period would make me more sensitive? It would damb sure make it cheaper. I really had a love affair at 2.5mg and 5mg. Tirz. But it's more like a battle at 10mg and now 12.5mg. The fine print does say 'with diet and excersize.' Isn't chore time at 16 below enough excersize?

Sorry I was responding to an old message of someone advising you to jist stay on 4mg or smth. I am new to this forum so I didnt quote the person.

I completely understand hesitation for long term use. I am sure I will be staying on this for life if it works which is why grey market is so important. I was very interested in your higher dosage as I mentioned I am only effected by high dosages.

I have fears of building a tolerance to the effects in tbe future. Is this something you have experienced?

No point in rushing unless you can't afford it.
Yes, food choices are super important and those I do feel like are really under my control at all times, no excuses.

Thank you for your thoughts. Wishing us all both peace and a delicious holiday season.

I'll be curious to test this for myself as well. I feel less optimistic about the outcome being positive now though. I have recently witnessed family members stop these meds then restart without ever experiencing the same levels of appetite suppression that they once experienced...which is a bummer. Maybe it'll be different from person to person though

Hey, thanks for the Getback!

I'm starting to think yes it's individual. I've always worked outside, physical labor. I think it had made me 'thick' or dense-hyded, maybe. My friend has always been a professional. Working inside, in climate control. Not judging. Just comparing and sort of guessing. Like, how long I should sit at no progress?

May i ask how long were the duration between stopping and restarting?

In one case, about a year. She was using 2mg of semaglutide (brand ozempic) and restarted on brand wegovy, working up to 2.4mg. I'm thinking we are going to need to explore other medications or go higher in dosing, because this level of medication, in her case, is now practically useless for appetite suppression - blood sugar is still good to go though.

And from medication to medication! With sema it really seems to be: Once you are out, you are out. It's different with tirzepatide though, even in the very same person. (I remember one person who tried to re-introduce both at different times with this result, and several others who could use mounjaro after a break again.)

Quick update since is been about 4 months.

I've stopped increasing days in between shots for the time being and am sitting at 15mg every 14 days. I'm hovering near 210lbs, so a little over a 240lb loss that has been fully maintained for a solid year now while increasing time in between shots. I'm thankful that it hasn't been a struggle and am now confident that I will maintain this loss for life. I hope you all get that feeling too.

I'm currently in the final stages for abdominal skin removal surgery approval and I should know within the next month if it's going to be approved or not. So the plan is to hold steady, get the surgery, and then begin slowly reducing dosing again while slowly increasing calories to a slight surplus to continue building muscle.

If I don't make another update then you can assume that my surgery wasn't approved and I'm just living life, out on the town, flapping my stomach flapper to my hearts delight.

Thank you for updating! I was actually just revisiting this thread a couple of days ago because I finally bit the bullet and went to 20mg this week. Sitting at post-pin day 3, I feel like it's 'working' again and helping me reclaim better habits. I'd really really really love to drop another 30 pounds and have less struggle maintaining.

All finger's crossed for your approval, DTD! You're an inspiration.

It was actually your reaction to the post a few days ago that triggered the update. When I saw it, I was thinking, "eh it's been a while. I'll check in so they don't think I'm dead."

I'm happy you are feeling the medicine again! Attack that last 30 then you'll be able slip into maintenance and increase your calories. I've seen people say that maintenance is harder than losing, but that hasn't been my experience at all. It can be more boring, because losing weight is exciting, but it's so much easier to the point that it's not even comparable. I'm eating so much more food. I never thought my maintenance calories would be this high. I think a lot of us will be surprised at how much more we can eat once the weight loss phase is done.

Message me when you get to your goal. I'll be excited to get that update.

I haven't posted in months either but @byefatlicia checked on me and like a true fattie I feel like i took all I wanted from the buffet and left! Actually I also maintained my weight loss for over a year. Despite losing all my weight on Tirz I maintained for a year using Sema instead because I had several (plan B) kits in the freezer. Went back to Tirz (2.5mg/wk) and after 3mos got on the scale and suddenly dropped 10lbs... Now I'm too underweight.

@DwightTheDelight I hope you get your skin removal but either way your still gonna be you (thank goodness) and hey... maybe one of these unsterile peptides can give you a nasty infection right in one of the folds necessitating removal...(/s) New strategy in injection sites! Not a stretch...I knew a guy gaining weight to try to get on the Biggest Loser!

I figured you joined a commune for former comedians, but not my business, of course.

I just hit overweight on the BMI scale and figured it would be a good time to post an update, since I'm not sure how many other people are above the 15mg/week threshold and it might be useful info to some. My doctor recently told me I need to start wrapping this up and slowing down. High dose Tirz has powered a 217lb loss (48%) in the last 500 days with very minimal side effects.

I've worked my way up to 15mg of Tirz every 5 days for the last 8 months and Glp1plotter estimates a peak concentration of 28mg in my system. I've messed around with adding reta and cagri in during this stretch for short segments, but I've been unimpressed. Ungodly amounts of Tirz does the trick for me.

In terms of diet, I've been slowly increasing average calories since January from 1500 to 2100 the past two months. Despite this increase, I'm still losing fairly quickly. High carb, moderate protein, low fat plus a day or two of fasting per month is melting this saggy azz.

I'm going to begin slowly increasing the days between shots to see how I handle it. Also, I've lucked out in regards to loose skin, despite the fast loss, and will only need my lower stomach addressed surgically. Not sure if diet/occasional fasting played a role in that, but I thought I would have more loose skin than I do.

@nonyabizznez still married! Booyah! I had to text her to make sure though... haven't seen her in a while

Actually I thought it was a nudist colony but once I put on my glasses it was a Shar pei breeder's kennel 🧐!

Congrats on your successful maintenance, homie! I hope you are feeling well and can slowly get that 10lbs back on.

Send me your address - if my surgery goes through, and you win the big raffle, I'll consider autographing and mailing my belly button to you!

F or what its worth, I've worked my way up to 33mg - and been on that for, well, a few months at least - am debating whether to go higher to break my recent plateau...
