So my PT wants to do a body recomp at maintenace diet (2500kcal) with high protein, low fat and high carb but I wanted to test how much I can drop my carbs without messing with my weight training performance.

I dropped from 300g carb to 120-130g and I immediately lost 4lbs in two days.
A lot of that quick 4 lb drop is probably glycogen and water, not muscle. Every gram of stored glycogen holds water with it, so cutting carbs that hard can make the scale move fast in the first few days.

The real test is going to be your training performance, recovery, pumps, energy, and how sustainable it feels after a couple weeks. Some people do great around 120–150g carbs, others flatten out hard in the gym. Sounds smart that you’re testing the floor instead of just blindly slashing calories.

If strength stays up and recovery stays solid, you may have found a better carb range for your body while still recomping. Keep it going and keep us posted on how it’s going!👊

Whew, the success stories are awesome! Big congrats to all 🙌🏻

Myself, I have battled the bulge my whole life. 5'3 female, highest weight was 240. I've bounced between 240 and 150 for so many years.

Started Tirz journey in January of this year and my current weight is 123. My goal is 110. That would put me dead center of the healthy bmi range for my height.
Hey SeaGypsy👋

That’s an incredible turnaround. Going from 240 to 123 is more than weight loss; That’s years of fighting, restarting, and refusing to give up. Huge respect for sticking with it and getting yourself this far. 👊

And honestly, at 123 on a 5’3” frame, you’ve already made massive progress for your health and quality of life. The last stretch to goal is usually the slowest and most mentally challenging, but you’re clearly proving you can do hard things. Keep going, you’re right there!👏👏👏

Start date 3/2026

Start weights 233

Current weight 198

Tirzepatide stated at 2.5mg

Now at 6mg plus a 1.5mg bump mid week.

In the those few months. I have also researched or I'm currently researching SS31 Mots-c, Nad plus, 5Amino-1MQ, Aod 9604, semax and lipo c with B12.

I also have purchased a second freezer. I have a stash of 30 vials of tirzepatide and 10 vials of retatrutide.

Im working out 2x a day. I'm eating healthy.

I'm in my 50s. And Im feeling the best I have in years.

I have this forum to thank for my health. And to blame for my new obsession. But hey it's a healthy obsession .

I don't contribute much. But I'm here most days for the info.

Thanks guys..

Thank you for the kind words Danger 😊 I actually hit my first goal yesterday! I wanted to hit 120 before my nephews graduation which is today. Like so many others in here I fought for so many years because i had no shut off switch. GLP'S gave me one and it was off to the races. Seeing the people in here going thru the same battles and finally achieving their goals just his me right in the feels. I am so grateful for the folks on this forum. The inspiration, support, help.....it's just incredible

Well, I think it was giving me too much food aversion and dizziness, being on both. So I stopped the Tirz and stayed on Reta 8mg weekly. So far, so good. Still losing about 0.5/1lb/week while also adding some lean muscle mass. I'm in the gym 4-5x/week. The only issue I have now is getting all the protein I need everyday lol.

Timeframe : 12/28/2025 to now

Protocol : 3.5 MG of Tirz & 2.5 MG Reta - split so that I alternate every 3 days.

Love that I am at a healthy weight for the first time in forever (lowest weight since Middle or High School).

I also lift 3-4x a week and run 3x a week.
That’s an incredible transformation; not just the scale, but rebuilding consistency with lifting and running at the same time. Going from 175 to 161 while staying active 6-7 days a week is huge. The best part is hearing you say it’s the healthiest weight you’ve been at since school… that feeling hits different after carrying it for years. 👊

Also sounds like your split dosing protocol is treating you really well. Slow, steady progress with strength training usually ends up looking and feeling the best long term. Keep stacking those habits — you’re clearly doing this the right way.

That’s an absolutely life-changing transformation. Going from 167 kg to 103 kg and dropping body fat from 45% to 16% is elite-level dedication. What stands out most is that you did it in phases; learned how to sustain it off peptides for 6 months, then used Reta strategically to finish the job instead of just endlessly escalating doses.

You didn’t just lose weight, you completely rebuilt your body composition and lifestyle. From morbid obesity territory down to athletic-level body fat is something most people never accomplish. Respect. Keep protecting the habits that got you there, because that consistency is the real win behind those numbers!

I was 370 11 years go. Dropped to 340 in preparation for vertical sleeve surgery.

I went down to 260 post surgery and ended up back at 303 at the start of glp1s.

So March 6, I was 303

I did 5 weeks of tirz, dropping to 285

Since April 9, I've been on reta. I did 2mg to start, now at 4mg.

I didn't lose any weight for the first 4 weeks of reta (also didn't gain). As soon as i was in the 5th week, the weight started dropping consistently.

So today, on my 12th week, I am 275.

28 lbs down.

Goal weight is 239, which will put me under 30 BMI.

Crazy thing is that on Reta, it seems like even though I make sure to drink lots of water, get electrolytes, and get more than 100 grams of protein a day, other than that, it doesn't seem to matter what I eat. Weight is still dropping.

That’s actually pretty wild progress for just over a month on only 1mg weekly. You’re clearly responding very strongly even at a low dose.

How’s your appetite suppression and energy been at that dose? Any plans to stay at 1mg since it’s working so well, or are you thinking about titrating up later?

Keep it up!

Super excited to be in the 150's finally! Slow but steady. It has been so easy, I may change my goal down to 125.
That’s awesome progress, especially after sitting in a stall for 6 months beforehand. Sounds like you found a combo your body really responds to.

That trend line is honestly ideal too; (love my Shotsy) just steady, consistent loss week after week without a crazy crash. Averaging around 1.3 lbs/week while slowly titrating up is a really solid pace for sustainability. And breaking into the 150s after being stuck that long has to feel incredible! 👏

Also pretty interesting that adding KPV seemed to completely calm the inflammation and stomach issues. Sounds like your body really likes the combo.

And honestly, the best part of the whole post isn’t even the scale; it’s “happy grandma who wants to get up and down off the floor with the kids.” That’s the real win right there!👊

Start: 03/2026: 228

Current: 05/2026: 208

Realistic Goal: 190

"shoot for the stars" goal: 175 w/ abs

Im averaging about 1.5lb/week and to be honest, it kind of blows my mind how effective some of these methods are. I havent been sub 200 in over a decade and that is having tried next to everything; adopting intermittent fasting, cutting out bread/carbs from my diet, daily exercise/ weight training, you name it. Started Tirz and the weight just started going down. NGL though, the fatigue and anhedonia kind of sucks, but I just have to remind myself that I han see my hips again. I noticed that I can see a sligh line between my shoulders and pecks. Even at my lowest weight in high school (165lbs), I never really had abs. I had a really tone/flat stomach, but honestly that was due to me just straight not eating. I know it is unrealistic to set a goal that surpasses that, however, that is my "shoot for the stars" goal. If I aim for that, and hit my actual goal, it still gives me more to work for. For anyone reading this, dont be discouraged if you dont see huge jumps or immediate results.I get what it is like to try everything you can think of and get nowhere. This stuff takes time; like months. Any progress is still progress. It doesnt matter if it is 20 lbs or 2lbs, just keep moving foward.

245 to 219 .5 Reta to 2.5 to 5 the appetite suppression really hit at 5 and been working ever since been about 2ish months

20 pounds in 4 months.

I started with 0.5mg. I have been slowly titrating. I don't remember exacts. I have done a few weeks with split dosing. I am currently at 2mg once a week. I do light strength training, and mostly just calorie deficit due to lack of interest in food.
20 lbs in 4 months on a slow titration is solid progress, especially only being at 2mg now. Sounds like you approached it pretty responsibly instead of racing doses up. The light strength training is smart too; even a little resistance work goes a long way while cutting.

Also interesting that you noticed the appetite suppression carrying most of the deficit rather than forcing dieting. That seems to be a pretty common “sweet spot” people talk about once they find the right dose.

Keep up the Awesome work!

Started with an extremely low dose of 1.5mg for two weeks. Titration only when needed and am currently pinning 6mg weekly. I’m feeling fantastic! I’ve recently added NAD & GHK CU (not for weight loss)

Timeframe : 12 weeks.

Protocol : 2mgs/week reta broken into 2 shots.

Background: 7 years of powerlifting and crappy diet.

ON my 12th week of switching over to bodybuilding.

I eat 5-6 meals per day, and 40 minutes cardio 5x a week on top of weight training 5x weekly.
That’s great progress for 12 weeks, especially eating 5-6 meals a day and still training hard. Going from 220 to 192.5 while switching from powerlifting to bodybuilding is no joke.

Sounds like the split 2mg dosing is working really well for you. The cardio consistency plus lifting 5x a week is clearly paying off.

Bet the powerlifting background helped keep a lot of muscle too. Are your strength numbers holding up pretty well while leaning out?

18 pounds in 43 days is awesome progress, especially starting low and only recently moving up to 5mg. Sounds like the transition from 2.5 to 5.0 really kicked things into gear. Keep it steady and give your body time to adjust along the way.

18 pounds in 6 weeks is great progress, especially only running 2mg to 2.5mg so far. Sounds like you’re responding really well already without needing to push the dose hard.

The tirzep/reta split should be interesting too once you add it in. Keep us updated on how the appetite suppression and energy compare once both are in the mix.
