I'm so glad I'm not the only one who does this! It's been pocket knives, sharpening stones/equipment, camping supplies, Soylent/food replacements, peptides, fountain pens, sourdough starters, notebooks, fountain pen ink, etc etc. And then in a couple months I just...forget all about it. The fountain pens was the biggest and most recent one, I spent several hundred dollars on inks and pens and fancy paper in a matter of weeks. I haven't written with any of them in at least a few months. v_v
It especially sucks because no matter how much I want to return to a hobby or continue to enjoy it, once the initial honeymoon period is over, it's kind of impossible to go back. I just can't force myself to engage with it anymore, even if I want to.
At least I don't have kids lol. But I do have pets and am partially caring/paying for my sister and nephew, so my disposable income still isn't exactly high.

My partner has won his class every year except the first year. He runs SCCA and there's a really nice track about an hour away where his son is an instructor. He gets lots of track time.

I know one day I will hang up my leathers and will only watch on TV. My wife loves watching MotoGP with me even though she doesn't ride.
I think she understands the sport better than I do. She is able to pick out which up and coming riders will become real contenders.

I follow it some. I have great respect for those riders. When I raced in CA I met a guy training to become a TT racer. I was surprised at how lengthy a process it is, they don't just let anyone out there.
I'm mostly a circuit racing enthusiast. I watch MotoAmerica, World Superbike and MotoGP. It's a part time job keeping up especially when all three land on the same weekend.

She sounds like fun to watch with! There are many ways to move motorsport, I agree.
I worked for Michelin when they were still the tire supplier. My closest work friend was the Director of Motorsports. We had a lot of fun on the road together. I tried to schedule my travel to align with his when I knew he'd be near the Bay Area. We had a lot of fun at Sears Point and in San Francisco. Probably our best trip. We went to Mitchell Brothers O'Farrell's. It was really fun. (No, my husband didn't care. It's skin and we all have it.)
