Had a few small hobbies, but this year has been my house remodel...

I was addicted to BBQ had 7 pits until recently, now down to 4 including a trailer setup.

Great family times in this

This lady always needed something, she is gone as of last year.

That's a cool hobby! How far is your longest flight?
It was a flight of 3.5 hours with 168 km total distance at coast. I generally don't fly long distances. Mostly, I am back on ground between 1 and 1.5 hours. Weather conditions are not such suitable for long distance flights and also hearing engine sound such a long time is exhausting.

...Hell yeah going fast is rad! The picture thing has frustrated me sometimes to the point where i give up and delete my post!

I figure someone can lock their screen and rotate if they care, I don't know of a trick to make the uploader "do right."

The EV were more quick than fast, the SUV would do 0-60mpg in ~2.5 seconds while the car would do 0-150mph in under 10 seconds. Top speeds were 175mph in the car and 163mph in the SUV.

Sometimes I miss them, but post covid price adjusting to reality made for some hellacious depreciation that I was glad to be out of.

The trip to Japan and Korea with the family. Gave the kids hundreds of dollars to spend in arcades, on rigged crane games, where you just MIGHT win worthless stuffed animals that will require the purchase of a new suitcase and additional baggage fees. But it inspired me to have ChatGPT design a t-shirt they'll never understand...

Roughly 50% of my annual expenditures since I retired have been for travel. My country count is at 67 right now. I've also started spending previously unimaginable amounts on hair and skin care.

In the past, scuba diving and aviation have done serious damage to my net worth.

I'm realy quite boring. I made beer, wine and distilled spirits completely from scratch before I was fat, and while I was getting fat. Now I am planting grapes and fruit trees to hopefully get back into wine making. More in moderation next time. Planted about 60-70 fruit trees and 25ish grape vines. I also saw my own lumber from trees I cut down on my property.

Almost forgot. I cut and split firewood. 11 cords this year. And yes, I biuld the wood shed with lumber I cut, from a tree I cut down, on my property

My other money pit right now is luggage, briefcases, and backpacks. I travel a bit, so I use that as a legitimate excuse to buy travel gear. Right now I'm particularly obessed with Rimowa products.

This was my latest find that I picked up in Italy a couple of months ago. His name is Charlie Waffles, cuz he looks like a waffle. He's good for overnight trips and just looking pretty. It's a numbered piece so he hasn't left my house yet. My sister say that if Charlie and I go to the airport chances are that we'll get mugged on the way because it looks like there should either be money or diamonds in the case 🤣 . It's kind of flashy. If you see someone in an airport carrying this bag and if he's 6'4" then it's me...

As someone with ADD, I have a lot of hobbies and also very few. It all depends on how you look at it.

Most of the time, they just don't give me enough of a dopamine hit and quickly fade out.

My other money pit, besides peptides, is luxury watches. I'm fascinated about the design and the fine mechanics.

I don't own that many, currently five, but together they're worth more than your average German premium sedan.

These past few months my peptide obsession distracted me enough to take a break of researching these expensive m#th€rf...$

Distant upcoming money pit: Just before the EU's planned ban on combustion engines in 2035 goes into effect or Mercedes-Benz announces sundown on ICE engines, whichever comes first, I'm going to buy myself an AMG 🤩as a retirement present.

That Caddy.....

I tried my hand at SCCA Autocross. No two wheel for me. That was wild enough on 4. The only times I was allowed to drive the Shinka. That, alone, made it worthwhile.

ADHD makes sticking to one thing impossible.

I collect small format, indie artist donut paintings. My great grandmother opened a donut store in my County 70+ yrs ago. There was a time if you purchased a grocery store donut in PA/NJ/NYC it came from her place. She got bored. Gave it to her sister and brother-in-law and moved on to finding her next husband. My kinda bad bitch, my Bubbie.

I used to make cold process soap. I volunteer with local animal rescue. I paint. I crochet.

Flea markets & estate sales are my jam which might have led to overbuying which might have ended up with me renting a booth at a local antique mall. Not sure. Might be a rumor.

Sports ball is great. Ice hockey is better. Grand prix racing is best.

Pottery. "Fun retirement hobby" they said. "Won't cost much at all" they said. Sigh. A $2000 kiln, a $1200 pottery wheel, untold supplies and such $$$$ later, I'm doing good to find money for my new hobby hoarding grey. Anybody wanna buy a mug? (Kidding! These are going to an upcoming market)

Ooh, River birch? Ancient Copper? Annnnnd I'm gonna need help with that rich matte one on top. Also, what's that matte under your honey flux? Satin Oribe? Mad respect for your shapes, that trim job on the feet, your glaze combos, and roomy balanced handles. 😍
