Yes. I had fatigue as a side effect before the jump. I knew I was risking more fatigue but the vomiting and GI issues are new.

Can I ask if you monitor your heart rate?ronin365 said:I titrated aggressively from 1 to 6 mg in about a month's time. Been at 5 mg since late last year, after experiencing meat aversion at 6 mg. Just increased to 6 mg last week and only have minor altered skin sensations —otherwise no other side effects. I started Reta before the holidays last year and observed a steady decline beginning in December. Gone from 317 lbs to 276 as of last week.

I do. I copied my post from earlier this month, I thought I was going to level off at 7mg/week but continued moving up. I'm at 9mg taken in the last week, I figure I'm going to be somewhere between 8-10mg/week leveling off (time will tell).Lyophilized said:Can I ask if you monitor your heart rate?

I'm on Reta 2mg every 3.5 days to minimize sides, then intend to get to dose the whole 4mg every 5-6 days. I previously lost 20 lbs on Tirz, switched to Reta slowly about 8 weeks ago, titrated up .5 a week. I've lost a few lbs in those few weeks. My plan is to stay at 4mg for the next few weeks and see where I am at before I make further adjustments.390120 said:I know everyone is different but I read a lot of posts where people start at low doses and don't need to titrate up that high of a dose.
I'm curious as to if people go all the way up to 12mg like in the clinical trials, if if they have reaped most benefits at lower doses.
So my question is:
How long have you been taking Reta for?
Where along are you in your journey?
What is your current dosage?
I started on 2 mg/ weekly and titrated up after two weeks to 4 mg/ weekly and will be at 4 mg for awhile. I started at 246 and after 5 weeks I'm at 228. Amazing. I am experiencing skin sensitivity which is irritating but other than that Im doing terrific.390120 said:I know everyone is different but I read a lot of posts where people start at low doses and don't need to titrate up that high of a dose.

For me, money, sure. Also, if I rush to the highest dose asap, I’m probably missing some fat loss, possibly burning more muscle, and definitely losing faster than skin can adjust.headward said:Why do people do 'lowest effective dose'? Why not just try to hit the 12mg max asap if that is what the trials show work? Is it to minimize side effects or to save money? Seems the cost savings are minimal with a lower dose.

I do monitor it. For the record I have had an elevated heart rate for a long time. Early last year my resting heart rate was consistently in the low 80s. When I started my new health regimen in July (diet, gym, walking, TRT) my resting heart rate dipped below 80 in August and began to rise again and was back to the low 80s in October. I started Reta at the end of October, and my bpm rose a bit more, peaking in the high 80s in mid-December. But since then to now, its been dropping. I am back in the low 80s and the trend line shows this will likely drop some more. So while I did see a bump up in heart rate from Reta, it appears to have been temporary.Lyophilized said:Can I ask if you monitor your heart rate?

Because once you’re at the max you’ve been painted into a corner when tolerance kicks in. If you’re at a lower dose you can increase. If you’re at max dose you can either start stacking or exceed max, but that’s about it. So prob best not to rush to an unnecessarily high dose.headward said:Why do people do 'lowest effective dose'? I did the exact same as you and I’m also experiencing the skin sensitivity. It is really annoying, for me it's everywhere from head down to my ankles. Other than that, I'm loving it.390120 said:I did the exact same as you and I’m also experiencing the skin sensitivity. Annoying on legs and stomach

Nerker said:I'm in week #4 of 2mg. Lost 11lbs in first 2 weeks and 2lbs week #3.
I'm was considering heading up to 4mg this Sat (dose day).
Food noise is less but I also lock down into eating right really well. I have an appetite but also wouldn't have to eat, if that makes sense.
I think phase #3 trial held the dose for 4 weeks before titrating up.
I've read that by week #4 I'm finally getting the max effect or steady state of the 2mg dose.
Should I do all 4 weeks on 2mg? Anyone have thoughts? I'm honestly excited for more aggressive weight loss but can be patient too.

Is that to someone specifically or in general?RetCurious said:What exactly is "skin sensitivity"... pain, itch, burning or?
Are the symptoms localized or wide spread?
Do they present as a rash or raised surface?
