Vulnerable Question-are we doing a band-aid at every injection site these days?

Nope, very rarely is there any blood for me. I have had other injections at the doctor where a bandaid was needed but those were always larger needles or intramuscular.

I can't even tell where I injected to know where to put a band aid 😆

Hi, at the risk of seeming like a bacteria-ridden infection waiting to happen, and since I recently became a full time pin cushion, I gotta know: are we doing a band-aids at every injection site these days? I'm like 3x sites daily at times and these band-aids hurt like a mofo when I tear them off. What's the best practice for the living voodoo doll? TY, Nerky
Absolutely you should use band-aids. Don't tear them off either just leave them on until they come off in the shower. Stock up and be safe.

I wipe the area with the alcohol wipe. if its Klow I use a cotton pad and apply gentle pressure for a few seconds. that is all.

when my daughter was two we had the very colorfull bandaids, she liked to put them on like accesories. You could do that for fun.. 😉

Really not needed, in the rare case it bleeds and does not stop quickly, a bandaid makes sense, but usually the needles are too small for this to happen.

I have to be bleeding more more than a couple seconds in order to feel like I might need a bandaid. I have yet to stick myself bad enough to get to that level. If you used an alcohol wipe on the area before you stick you should be fine.

I really can't even imagine looking at that tiny pinprick and thinking it needs a bandaid in the first place.

I don't use them hardly ever. They just catch crud and hold it against the wound IMO. I don't alcohol wipe my skin prior either. It's largely a continued practice due to cultural expectations. It really isn't necessary if your skin is clean and there is growing evidence that your skin barrier health should be considered as well.
