I’ve only been on Reta for about three weeks now at 2mg and I’ve seen a fantastic improvement in my blood glucose level. My insulin resistance has gone down tremendously. I haven’t felt much appetite suppression but because I have had such stable blood glucose, it has allowed me to eat less and less carbs overall without going low and having to correct. I’ve also been using less insulin which has been great and overall just feel so much better. Was not expecting such and improvement so quickly but it’s been great to see. My CGM is reporting my sugars being 7% better over the last month which translates roughly to a lower A1C by .4 and 20% better over the last week.

That's outstanding! I'm pre-diabetic and hoping reta along with diet and exercise will get me completely back to normal.

type 1 here - starting reta next week, just did 6 months of tirz (zepbound) and i drastically dropped my a1c from a high 8.9 to 6.5 now. best it's ever been at. lost 60lbs. and have natural energy & best sleep of my life too. good luck with everything! your life is about to improve in a major way

How was your insulin sensitivity on tirz? On Reta I haven’t noticed much appetite suppression but my insulin sensitivity has been way better!

I'm down to barely 50 units in 3 days. I used to take 200+ units every 3 days before tirz. I get lows a few times every week& rarely go over 160 glucose. It's honestly done wonders

As for appetite, tirz is better for suppression. reta's better for the fat loss.

Also Type 1 on Reta. In my 4th week now and I've lost about 10lbs. My blood sugar control has been amazing. Everything seems so much more steady. I've had to reduce my basal rate and my overall insulin sensitivity has improved so much.. I used to center my life around food and now it feels like an after thought. So freeing.

I'm not sharing the fact that I'm on Reta with my family/friends or my diabetic medical team because of the judgement and all that bs. I've done my own research and know my body the best, so I personally don't feel the need to. I'm curious if other Type 1's are sharing with their doctors and what their reactions are?

Not Type 1, but both Type 1 & 2 run in my family. Hasn't affected my a1c positively so far. I've been on Reta 1 mg for about a month now. Even at that level appetite suppression has been adequate for me to lose about 2 lbs / week. Pre-Reta (3 months ago) my a1c was at 5.5. Got it tested yesterday randomly because even though my doc thought it wasn't necessary I thought I should keep an eye on it and it's up to 5.7. Thinking I'll go up to 2 mg and retest in a couple months.

That's a huge change in just 3 weeks!! Congratulations and keep at it.

My fasting glucose went from 96 to 73 on 2mg/week of Reta - A1C lowered accordingly as well. This was after about 3 months on it.

Sorry to hop on the thread but your results are awesome. I’m not anting to drop about 50 lbs and drop my a1c lower than the 5.6 it’s at. Hopefully once I figure all this out I am going to start on tirz and hope to get to where I want.
