Tumor ALL OF A SUDDEN

I have a friend of mine that started Reta and nads at the same time about 2 months ago. He tells me to quickly come over I have to look at something. So I go over he brings me inside and tells me (with all seriousness) he has a tumor on the side of his head. ( HIS ACTUAL HEAD ON HIS SHOULDERS ). So I take a look and sure enough he has this really soft squishy lump behind his ear, that is really tender to the touch. He automatically blames it on the peps. I couldn’t convince him otherwise, despite all the clinical trial info. So I wanted to ask and see if anybody else has experience anything out of the ordinary while on Reta. I’ve already covered my issue with my previous post. I got my answer so I’m hoping someone knows something and could kindly share. Thanks

I certainly hope he plans to show it to a doctor , not just a friend. Most new lumps are not going to be cancers, but not checking it out is not a safe approach. Soft squishy and tender sounds more like an infection or an infected sebaceous cyst, but still needs medical assessment like any new lump.

He should see a doctor to be sure but I think dangerous tumors are harder. Not soft and squishy.

Thank you, I agree and told him the same. He is hard headed ( except for that one spot ). I am thinking it’s an infection only because I’ve personal experienced cyst and they don’t typically hurt.

A lipoma is what first came to my mind too, but obviously he should be heading to see a doctor ASAP, but in all honesty, this does seem to be case of emptyheadedness than hardheadedness. I guess it takes all kinds of folks to keep evolution on its toes.

I’ve had a sebaceous cyst that burst- that hurt a lot. But I agree, it sounds like an abscess or a blocked gland or something. If it was a tumor the skin gets an orange-peel appearance in many cases. But yeah- cancer doesn’t usually hurt at the site of the tumor unless it’s inside of a bone.

If it’s soft and squishy it’s probably a lipoma. I think cysts tend to be firmer. See my previous post about my level of expertise however

I’m going from personal experience. Mine was “probably a lipoma” too. But it was a sebaceous cyst. Had to get it removed twice and I still keep an eye on it (difficult, since it’s high up between my shoulder blades…).

When it was infected it used to make the loveliest bullseye rash…

I'm with you on the hoof-cleaning, but my lady, the sheer tingly ASMR of watching a real juicy cyst exploding streams of pus all over the place...I assure you, once you relish the first cyst hack, you never go back.
