Hello All.

A certain China vendor tracking has it coming from KISSIMMEE,FL vs China. Is this intentional for some reason? They do not have USA warehouse. If this is not allowed, apologies, I am doing my best to follow the rules.

Anyone ordering from China should embrace the following when it comes to tracking:

IGNORE IT — IT'S MEANINGLESS

The Chinese hand out tracking numbers because modern society (especially in the US and Canada) has become so conditioned to expect/demand tracking and follow it obsessively.

Tracking from a Chinese vendor is best ignored and considered meaningless unless and until the package is actually in the destination country and in the hands of the delivery carrier. Until then, it's all useless make believe (and even then sometimes).

Man, you are so right. This was me for my first order. Impatiently waited for tracking number to be issued, then began checking it 3 times a day. Then searched the internet for websites besides 17track and entering my tracking number there. To say I obsessed about it would be a slight understatement. I did much better (as far as you know) with my second order. I'd like to think I'll do way better the next time I order.

Everyone does that their first time. I checked 3 times a day, messaged the vendor twice. Tried every tracking app known to man. Hit the Discord asking, "Has anyone received their order yet???". What a noob. Now I just spray some Selank and chill. If it gets here I'm happy.

My mild experience has been that most tracking numbers will either track from CHN to mainland or they will get you the last leg tracking and nothing will be good until then, OR you can chase down the 17track or whichever system number and flog your way through.

Zippity ikinda nailed it though as nothing that comes from the tracking matters anyway until it gets on the last leg and then you can be ready for a delivery, until then it "just doesn't matter'.

Enjoy the wait, anticipation can be fun! I have a package arriving today in fact, and got one yesterday too. It's like Christmas in March!

I can only agree with that. With my first order from China I constantly checked my tracking info which read "Order data transmitted electronically" for about 15 days.

Long enough to get me really nervous 😰

Then suddenly "package cleared customs", "package with local carrier" and next day it was delivered.

Undergoing the same process at the moment... still a bit nervous.

Maybe the third order will be the charm 🫣

This post is a fantastic newbie guide for order tracking. Kudos to @Jerrydee. I wish it could be pinned on the site:

wish I had found that, would not have posted. Really though my post was just confused since the package was from china but said it originated from Kissimmee, FL which based on research is a large hub for packages near Orlando so I guess it makes sense. TY for that link, saved it. Someone PIN IT !!

Pretty much treat it like Christmas and just hope and pray that it shows up.
ya pay and forget about it I guess. all good

Agree with read the shipping and logistics guide. I know for certain many vendors ship in bulk to local redistributors in Australia. Most likely this is the same, so you are only getting tracking from the local redistributor, who may or may not even have the package yet. You can try your tracking number on a general international tracking site, otherwise you just have to wait , 2 to 3 weeks is normal.

Wow 2-3 weeks for tracking?? I think I might have to go on a really strict diet when I get back to Aussie and forget about ordering for awhile 🙁

My question for those who don't care for the back story is in the last paragraph.

After 7 orders that went smoothly, for the first time, the tracking I was given suddenly went "unavailable". My contact keeps saying she will check with the freight forwarder, but I've got nothing but promises that this inquiry is happening, no report back to me.

Anyway, I know I'm being neurotic, but this order went in March 26. I got the initial USPS expecting package on March 28. The tracking just went unavailable on April 15th.

My question is, for those who have experienced it or just know, if there was a customs issue, would I know it? Is the tracking number suddenly showing as unavailable typical. First time for me.

My tracking did not update for 3 weeks. That is the time the tracking label was created until it hit USA. This calmed me. [archived internal link]

Basically, it is out of your hands and will arrive when it arrives.

As a newbie, I had a read a lot about this so I placed 2 orders from 2 different US warehouses on a Wednesday and figured the radio silence was acceptable and by Saturday I was about to email and ask until I saw a USPS email showing 1 as "out for delivery" and the other one the upcoming Monday. So fast I didn't even have a chance to think about it long enough lol

I got a message from the supplier that it was held up before leaving China. She said they will reship. My guess is that they knew it was being held but waited to make sure it wouldn't be released....or they never shipped in the first place and are saving face.

My tracking became "unavailable" when the USPS discovered my package had counterfeit postage. But it specifically gave that as the reason on the USPS website.

Vendors in China with with US-based "deconsolidators", or as others in here are calling them, "redistributors" . These are companies that receive one large box containing individual packages that they are entrusted to route to individual addresses. Apparently some deconsolidators are shady and try to pull a fast one on the USPS. What a waste of everyone's time and money. I never got my package.

Not sure if this is what happened to your package, but maybe the USPS can give more details.

I'm at a point where I'm ready to either restrict my orders to US warehouses or pay for "express shipping" , under the assumption that the package will bypass the deconsolidators and USPS. This experience has made me gun-shy about ordering grey in general.
