I've started sweating something awful soaking my clothes. Not sure if it's my lupus, anxiety or tirz. It just started. It's embarrassing.

Well that sounds frustrating! Of course it’s important to figure out what the source of the problem is, that’s suddenly causing that.

But for future, one medication that worked really good for all-over sweating (ie not confined to just one body part) is Oxybutynin. Gives a bit of the dry mouth but stops all the sweating.

Thank you. Me I sweat places I didn't know I could sweat. 🤣

Is this during physical activity or just in general? I'm on my 6th month of Tirzepatide and currently at 8mg and noticed myself sweating like crazy when working out when I previously would struggle to break a sweat.

Sweating is not an established side effect of tirzepatide supported by large-scale evidence and most people actually report feeling cold, especially early in treatment. This large-scale study systematically mapped the effectiveness and risks of GLP-1s across a wide number of health outcomes, and sweating wasn't among any of the identified positive or negative effects:

Just trying to help rule things out — do you happen to be peri-menopausal? The hormonal fluctuations during that transition are a very common cause of sudden, drenching sweats. Lupus and anxiety are also both well-known culprits. Worth mentioning to your doctor so they can sort out which is most likely driving it.

Yes but sometimes just walking stores and such.

No I had a hysterectomy years ago.

Ah, that's understandable. Are you noticing the sweating during activity, or also when you're sitting completely idle? That distinction can be helpful.

The tirzepatide could potentially be affecting your blood sugar regulation. Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) is actually a known cause of sudden sweating, and I sometimes notice sweating myself when my blood sugar drops. Worth paying attention to whether it happens around mealtimes or when you haven't eaten in a while.

Is a derm the best way to go for this?
Medical doctor can write a prescription for the pills - if you explain it's for occasional use for generalized hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). But its important to try to find out why it's happening, if it hasn't always been that way, as the Oxybutynin is a "bandaid" and not a true solution. Plus, one has to use caution with Oxybutynin as there are times you NEED to be able to sweat - ie heatwave, exercising in hot weather etc.

I thought it was my blood sugar at first. It's usually I'm doing even light stuff when it happens
