Has anyone considered buying a epipen just incase of anaphylactic shock.

I watched youtube vid where someone mentioned that they took mots-c for the first time and had a reaction.

Just wanting to hear everyone’s thoughts, is it over the top getting one or a good idea ?

Prevention is better than the cure.

I have the generic epipens, it was only $8 with insurance for 2. Being safe is never over the top, decide what you are personally comfortable with. Honestly it is a good idea to have epipens in case of a reaction to OTC meds, new RX, food, etc, not just for peptides.

Very good points, you only have one life so keeping it safe is everything 👌

I have only heard of that problem with IM Injection and not with sub Q.

Lots of fantastic discussion, anecdotes, and resources (including how to get epi pens or Neffy) in this thread.

Epi Pen resources?

It's my first time injecting something that wasn't reta and also my first time feeling pain when injecting. As soon as I injected 14 units of 10mg mots-c reconstituted with 1.4mL of BAC (filtering loss) it felt painful and a few seconds later there were droplets of blood and a 1inch red circle forming around the injection site. A few minutes later a lump developed within the red circle. I got somewhat anxious about this reaction so I took an antihistamine right away, but from reading around here I understand that this was just an injection site reaction? I have no other apparent symptoms any where else. It's been maybe an hour and it has subsided. My only solution is to add more bac to my vial and if that doesn't fix it just suck it up?

Neffy is a nasal epipen alternative. Ended up being free for me but at least should be under $200 for some peace of mind if getting into more obscure peps.

Ive considered it. After I had allodynia, and then again when i had a reaction to something non-peptide related where I had swelling in my mouth and the whole reaction was terrifying. But my indecisiveness and consideration of when/how to use it, accessibility of where I would keep it etc, has left me very uncertain.

I take antihistamines 365 days a year, in the last instance i took some extra while trying not to panic and symptoms went away in about 25 minutes.

I have been thinking of looking into some training/education on when and how to use an epipen, then getting one.
