Problem solved

The truth is that it's very simpleMeedzMoar said:That's awesome.

So rather rely on shady Chinese/Amazon/re-labelled BAC instead?MeedzMoar said:As much as I get some weird thrill out of my junior scientist activity filtering and reconning, I do not live in a clean room and want bac water made in the cleanest conditions to lessen my risks.
That's why.

Precisely why I was, politely, asking if you "not having a sterile room" translate into being happier with something that has been proved over and over to be unsafe. Screen the forum for some interesting pics of non-Hospira BAC cultures.MeedzMoar said:Hey, you do you. I stated what is comfortable for me. I can't make a judgment of what is right for anyone else. What you do is your business. This is a forum where people share ideas and experiences. Back up.

Exactly what alternatives do you suggest, in places across the globe where Hospira bac cannot reasonably be obtained, in that chasm between DIY mitigated risk and test-demonstrated CN microbial fiesta near-certainty?MeedzMoar said:Not sure why you're assuming my practices. It's unhelpful and wholly inaccurate. Just because I don't make my own bac water doesn't equate to a single alternative.
There is a wide chasm between CN bac water and making it one's self. As I posted, kudos to the person who shared their process and provided a very useful resource. That's impressive.
It's not something I am comfortable to do but a helluva solution to share.
You are behaving unnecessarily and inappropriately aggressive. There was nothing at all polite in your reply. Either of them. Really, back up.
You've been set to ignore.

I the absence of Hospira, I suggest focusing on using certified sterile water sourced from medical grade supplier (aka pharmacies). If need for long term, then I suggest add the 0.9% of benzylic alcool.indolent said:Exactly what alternatives do you suggest, in places across the globe where Hospira bac cannot reasonably be obtained, in that chasm between DIY mitigated risk and test-demonstrated CN microbial fiesta near-certainty?

In terms of there not being a sole alternative I was speaking of my own experience. I cannot and do not speak for anyone else.indolent said:Exactly what alternatives do you suggest, in places across the globe where Hospira bac cannot reasonably be obtained, in that chasm between DIY mitigated risk and test-demonstrated CN microbial fiesta near-certainty?
You could also just inject 10units of benzyl alcohol per 10mL of sterile water for injection. Using sterile makes sure that the water cannot be contaminated while you are handling it.Lyophilized said:I prefer to weight the amount of benzyl alcohol with the scale and then add the weight of water necessary to create a solution of 0.9%

I work on aseptic environment . Just need a burning alcohol lamp and do the work near the flame.BinaryPinecone said:You could also just inject 10units of benzyl alcohol per 10mL of sterile water for injection. For what its worth, I checked the Janoshik COA for a Herbilabs vial that I got off of Amazon. The values are looking good:Graymaxxem said:Do not use Amazon bac water. We tested it. It was not pretty.
Hospira or bust for me.
The good news is that testing showed hospira to remain usable far past the expiration date so theres that.
Try any of the resellers above as long as its actual hospira.
Seriously. I will never get the petri dish pics of nasties growing in it from failed sterility EVER out of my mind.
