So I have been on a GLP-1 medication for over a year now, started with Mounjaro and my maximum dose was 7.5mg.

I recently decided to make the switch to Reta due to the other benefits it is meant to give you...

I have been on it for 6 weeks with the following doses:

Week1 - 1mg

Week2 - 1mg

Week3 - 2mg

Week4 - 2mg

Week5 - 4mg

Week6 - 14mg (I got my vials mixed up 10mg & 30mg)

And even with the recent overdose (I am now 5 days past that) I did have a heavily suppressed appetite but no nausea or any other major side effects. I'm beginning to think that I either have fake stuff (I'm 99% sure it isn't) or my body is too used to GLP-1's that I no longer feel the effects.

Has anyone else been on GLP-1's for a long period of time and having a similar experience when starting Reta?

It's confusing the hell out of me 🤔

I would say - despite the 14mg hiccup (get you a NIIMBOT label maker for $15) you should cruise at 4mg for a month.

If that is not working - then go up to 8mg. This is the titration I followed as someone who came in from Tirz.

But, I also titrated my Tirz down while introducing Reta to my body. It seems you just stopped Tirz and jumped to Reta. Your body may take some more time to adjust to the new new.

My 2 cents: alternative to 7.5mg tirz would be 6mg Reta and I would suggest get to 6mg and stay on it for 4 weeks.

Also you're saying "Not Working". Did you gain? How much? Reta has less appetite suppression than Tirz.

Post Title: Reta isn't working

Post content: Let me tell you about my experience with everything other than the one result that reta is supposed to achieve (weight loss).

Might as well be telling us that your viagra isn't working because it's not helping you meet women at the bar. 🤣

Thanks, yeah I was going to work my way up to 6mg before I messed up but my weight has just stayed the same for weeks… I know I should probably track my calories more closely aswell… never really had to on triz, just made sure I was eating enough protein and not snacking on rubbish

Fair point well made 😂 starting weight on Reta 86kg / current weight before big dose 86.2kg / this mornings weight was 84kg but I lm putting that down to eating significantly less due to the big dose….

So I know the stupidly high dose would work but obviously not an ideal plan really

Also what do you mean viagra won’t help me meet woman! Damn I’ve been doing it wrong! 😂

You're going to have to include tirz weight loss history to be a proper apples to apples comparison. Switching from one med to another doesn't mean that you start over at square one and a brand new 20% to 30% weight loss on top of the weight you already lost.

It might be useful to think of weight loss as a sort of tug of war competition with a number of different players on each team tugging on the rope to move it their way. The dude on your team with a "hunger" jersey on just sprained his arm and isn't pulling quite as hard right now. But hey, that might be okay if the dude behind him with "metabolism" on his jersey just got a big shot of energy and is making up the slack and then some.

I know in our modern world we want everything exactly how we want it right now and it better not be anything other than what we imagined it would be since that would just be a complete and total betrayal of our trust and all that. It also seems to be fashionable to stand on soapboxes and scream when it doesn't happen exactly that way.

I have seen most people who switch stack one with the other prior to complete switch.

If you were on 7.5 and losing..that is one thing but were you losing on the 7.5?

I have been on 15mg for a year and fluctuate 1-2 lbs per week +/-

As for the Viagra working at the bar:

Try wearing these

Really. First, and this is my opinion. I think everyone should stay on a dose for 4 weeks like the studies, and let the stuff build up in you system, but they all thing they know best. The other is the starting at .25-.5mg. Rant over.

Bit contradictory there though isn’t it?

stay on dose for 4 weeks like the studies…

start at .25mg - .5mg - but didn’t the studies started at 2mg and went up to 12mg?

Can’t rant about people not following studies but at the same time pick and choose what parts of the trials should be followed…

The only reason titrated up quicker than usual is because I was already on 7.5mg of triz with no sides…

Anyway that’s my rant over 😉

I was losing slowly still on triz before starting reta

Yeah I think I sometimes forget I started at 121kg and dropped to 85/86kg on Mounjaro… just trying to get used to the weight loss not going as quick I guess….

I’ll work my way up slowly on Reta and see how I’m feeling in another 4-6 weeks…

Your right about wanting everything now.. I blame Amazon Prime 😂

Did you miss the part where I said it was my opinion? I'm not picking on anyone, and I'm not ranting on anyone. They really was about accidentally getting a 14mg dose. Did you accidentally mix the R10 instead of the R30, or opposite? If so, how much BAC did you add? I'm honestly curious.

I know, I’m only pulling your leg 😉

Yeah it was a genuine mistake I have 2 vials reconned in the fridge 10mg & 30mg and drew from the 30mg thinking it was the 10mg by accident (both are reconned with 1ml bac water) I was pretty anxious about what was going to happen but I have managed to get away pretty lightly with just a bit of a over suppressed appetite

I don't get it.

14mg suppressed your appetite and you lost weight. Can you please describe exactly how that translates to "Reta Not Working / Even After 14mg!"

It just sounds like you aren't at a high enough dose yet.

Need to get you a cheap label maker. No way I could keep track of my hoarding without making them. Not sure on UK prices, but Amazon has the Niimbot D110 for $17.99 and the Nelko P21 for $17.99 too. Both are simple little label makers. I have both, but think the Nelko is a little easier to use. Two simple labels in this picture I took.

I’ve just not heard of anyone having to go that high to get what was quite honestly mild compared to when I first started triz 12+ months ago… I see people get good suppression and results on 2-5mg but my accidental dose was over double that

Sure, but the fact that 14 mg works doesn't mean that 8mg will not. You have history on GLP1s, and it is well documented that retatrutide doesn't suppress appetite as strongly as tirzepatide.
