Reta histamine reaction! Has anyone had Reta have a histamine reaction with swelling with a large red area around injection site with itching!

I didn't get it from Mots. I was blasting 10mg, 3x per week. I also didn't get much anything else from it. Guess I am already optimized. Am jealous of everyone that gets results from Mots. Lucky bastards.
Mots wiped me out. I stopped after 3 weeks and my diet, supplements & exercise is always locked in. I’m going to try SS31 then mots to see if there’s better results!

a friend of mine has been getting giant red welts from the reta, same batch as me - she's tried all the tricks I could think of but every week it was worse so she has to discontinue use.
Yea he’s about to call it quits!

I haven't with Reta, but I sure did with Tirz! To the point that I had to stop using it. I can not confirm that this is why I haven't had a reaction with Reta, but I also do a 500mcg injection of KPV about two inches away from where I inject the Reta on injection day. I find it also helps me with the skin-sensitivity-death-itching between my shoulder blades I get the day after injecting Reta.

Interesting about the KPV... wonder if it will help with my skin sensitivity/allodynia from the Reta. I have a kit on the way so we shall see.

The same thing happened to me many times but using a Mounjaro pen from EL but since I moved to the gray stuff nothing at all. Some of those red lumps used to itch like crazy
That's odd you don't get it from the gray! Is the food noise reduction about the same?

Every single time. Lasts about a week and a half. Flares even worse at night when cortisol drops and histamine rises. Sometimes comes with this red outline. KPV doesn't help. Hell, my KPV injections swell and flare too. Fun times!

I have had histamine reactions with 5 different batches: 3 products (sema, tirz and reta), 2 suppliers for sema and tirz. The itch would last 5 to 7 days. I tried just the BAC water (2 suppliers) and had no reaction whatsoever.

I found a lotion at my local drugstore that is a mix of calamine and antihistamine. Helps keeping me sane through the worst of the itching. The workaround I have found works the best is to inject the peptides deeper. It does not work ever time, but I get a histamine reaction maybe 20% of the time now.

Injecting deeper hurts a bit, though. And I am worried that it may increase some risks (as it seems to bypass the immune system) and/or reduce the efficiency of the GLP-1s. I saw some stories of people saying their histamine reactions eventually went away. I am hoping I get there at some point.

Friendly reminder that peps are not sterile and you should make decisions around this. These are some recent pics of R30 and T60 as reminders:

The most common reason for ISR’s (injection site reactions) is moldy/unsterile peps. Do not forget that this stuff isn’t pharmacy grade.

Fortunately, with PES filters, these can be made completely sterile and safe. I have no qualms using these vials because they’ve been filtered

Injection site reactions happened in at least 5 to 10% in the drug company studies, I certainly hope their products were sterile. So I do not think you can claim that most are caused by contamination. No doubt some are, but there is no reliable data to know how common it is. A few colony forming units per vial might be enough to cause the growth visible on the agar plates, but a few are unlikely to cause an acute immune reaction, and a few most likely will get mopped up by your immune system rather than cause infection. A lot of them might cause an immune reaction but I would be more concerned about an infection in that case. I am not trying to say filtering is a bad idea or that chinese peptides are sterile to medical standards, but I am still yet to see a person on this forum complain of an infection from subcutaneous peptide injection.

Interesting. I would assume that there are a lot more immune cells resident in the dermis under the skin than there are in the subcutaneous fat tissue, which would explain why a deeper injection causes a lesser reaction. The problem it causes is the immune reaction, I do not think tiny amounts of whatever your immune system is reacting to are going to be harmful, so I would not be concerned about bypassing the immune system. Compared with the amount of crap literally and bacterial metabolites and fragments that make it through the gut every day into the bloodstream, I doubt it would be significant. In theory it could be the benzyl alcohol in the bac you are reacting to, have you tried plain water for injections instead? Being allergic to all 3 peptides seems a bit unlikely.

Yes all the same only thing I haven’t done is use the alcohol pads instead cleaned the area with soap and water before pinning. So could be that!

Very valid question..

I filter everything, no histamine issues.
I personally haven’t filtered yet so I can’t say if. That makes a difference but may just try it soon

I have tried doing exactly the same routine I do for peptides, but injecting BAC water alone. Same alcohol pads, same syringes, etc. I get no reaction at all when inject only BAC water.

I have bought sterile water but I have not tried reconstituting with sterile water instead of BAC water. I would have to use up the whole vial pretty quickly. And given that I don't get a reaction to BAC water, I don't expect the swap from BAC water to sterile water to solve the problem.

I thought maybe I was allergic to the filler they use in the lyophilized powder. But then, my histamine reactions don't follow quite the right pattern. When I started sema, I did not have a reaction for the first 2-3 injections. It started a bit later (maybe #4 or #5?) and got progressively worse. When i started tirz, I did not have a reaction to the first injection. Then a teeny-tiny reaction to the second. Then a clear histamine reaction to the third, and progressively worse from there. Same for reta: no reaction at first, then worsening over time. Makes me think I am actually reacting to the active ingredient. Dammit! ☹️

Yes my reactions weren’t there with about first 6 pins but then every one after that but since moving to grey no more reactions but we shall see as weeks go by

I'm curious on syringes and are you wiping the injection area with alcohol pads?

I have heard that alcohol pads right before injection can cause red areas so it's interesting to hear about it first hand!

Omg I been getting that with Tirz!! I finally figured out another way to inject to not get them! I top of my syringe with 1-2 units on top of the medication of plain bac water , I injected slowely and only did half of the 12.5 mg and no reaction!! The next morning I did the other half the same exact way and I have been so happy no reaction I've been doing this for 5 months and I get that big red itchy lump for 5-6 days woo hoo!!

Sounds like you are allergic to all of them, which sucks a bit. I do not see reacting to the filler mannitol as likely as it is too small a molecule to get an immune response. Some people get allergies to things more easily than others, the fact that it is not there initially but develops quickly more or less guarantees it has to be to the drug, especially given it followed more or less the same pattern for sema and tirz and reta. Depending on how unpleasant and itchy the reactions are it might be safe to keep using them, so long as there is zero evidence of any systemic reaction. Do antihistamines help? Cannot think of an easy way to mix a tiny dose of injectable antihistamine in with the GLP to try to stop the local reaction, given they are going to be prescription only and a doctor is not likely to want to prescribe it for that.
