Question for the US: how are you all so calm about long-term freezing?

That cat is Bacon! He’s a larger sized ginger who chose us about 10 years ago. Cats are my weakness too
Sorry to divert this thread lol, now I’d like to see your feline housemates.

I’m always happy to “show off” my little tribe, apologies in advance to anyone forced to witness this off‑topic chaos lol.

The first picture is… not exactly award‑winning, but it’s the only one where I managed to capture all three of my household overlords in a single frame. A historical event, basically.

My Persian still suffers immensely, years later, from the arrival of the two strays. He can’t tolerate them for more than 30 seconds. I feel bad for him, I really do, and yes, we tried everything, including a cat therapist. Naturally, nobody wanted to adopt the girls, so guess who kept them. Exactly.

The second photo is my fourth cat, also a stray, but he chose the “feral forever” lifestyle package. I’ve been feeding and caring for him for 11 years, yet I have NEVER managed to pet him (unless he was unconscious, which apparently doesn’t count). He’s FeLV‑positive, but with meds and proper food he’s doing his dramatic ups‑and‑downs routine.

We found him with a broken tail, trapped him with a cage, and later had to remove all his teeth in two separate surgeries — also with the cage, because trust is for other species. After everything he’s been through, he now trusts humans exactly zero.

We built that heated little house you see in the photo, and he lives outside in front of the building like the local cryptid. I’d love to have a house with a garden just for him. He’s now a majestic 11kg/24lbs unit

I think people might have misread my post, or misread the intentions of my post. Most people have replied to is justifying why they take peptides and their reason for that - I'm not questioning that whatsoever, at all, I'm taking them myself. I was curious why people buy years and years worth when they have been so easily accessible for such a long time and seem continue to be so, or is that not the case?.
Because it actually hasn't been so easily accessible. When I started taking wegovy I got it retail with no insurance coverage .. it cost $500 for 4 doses. That was at the BEGINNING dose. So I found the grey market to tackle the long term affordability problem.

This year our family insurance plan has jumped in price and the co-pay for my husband's prescription of ozempic that he takes for his diabetes jumped to $100 a month. Yes, you read that right .. $100 a month WITH insurance coverage. Last year it cost $25. He now dips into my supply of grey market semaglutide.

What Mr Persian needs is a touch of Selank! (Jk jk) Your little gang of household overlords look very well cared for, and the feral but accepts your offerings cow certainly is looking healthy! Nice pick me up, thanks for sharing!

Damn, Selank. Can’t believe I didn’t think of that. It would probably fix everything.

Thanks! The overlords approve, and the feral‑cow keeps collecting offerings like it’s a personal cult 🙄
