This seems like an interesting development-

About 6 month old article-

LaKe is a newly developed molecule designed to mimic the metabolic effects of both exercise and fasting. Specifically, it increases lactate and ketone levels in the body, potentially offering similar health benefits without the need for strenuous activity or dietary restrictions.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

Mimicking Exercise and Fasting:

LaKe is engineered to induce the same metabolic changes as when the body is undergoing strenuous exercise or fasting.

Lactate and Ketone Increase:

By increasing lactate and ketone levels, LaKe can trigger a metabolic state similar to running 10 kilometers on an empty stomach.

Potential Health Benefits:

Studies have shown that increased lactate and ketone levels can lead to improvements in various health areas, such as reducing the risk of metabolic syndrome.

Research and Development:

LaKe was developed through collaboration between researchers at Aarhus University, according to a news release from the university.

Animal Testing:

I can't wait to hear some real-life feedback on this.

Honestly I enjoy being able to run that far. Yeah training sucks, but the mental high of being able to do it, makes it worthwhile to me.

I cant see a pill giving me the same feeling.

It doesn't imply that taking it will burn a 10k run worth of calories LOL. This is nothing.

It simply states that it puts you into a metabolic state (ketosis), which you would be in if you ran a 10k on an empty stomach.

OR, don't bother with the damn drug and cut carbs for a few days and bingo, ketosis.

Excited to see where this goes, science is definitely sprinting
