We have a Testosterone thread going, but this one is personal, plus since im on probation i can only post like once per hour so its really gotta count! 😃

Dammit!!! All my brain fog, feeling tired all the time, pushing through with low energy and libido. I thought it was just cause i was fat. And today officially 101.5 pounds down and still feel all that.

I eat whole foods and protiens, stay away from unnatural sugars for the most part, work oit with stretching and weights for an hour or 2, 5 days a week. Oh and 7 to 12k steps daily by 330pm weekdays.

My muscles are hard as blocks of wood, but not growing, im yawning while trying to.lead these exercise classes, want a nap.by noon, im only 51yo? Was starting to think this was normal?

After getting back spectacular bloodwork where i went from prediabetic to not anymore, triglycerides that were off the charts to normal levels i became concerned that my energy and libido are still in the dirt, and asked for a testosterone test specifically. Came back really really low, explains SO MUCH. but then get a note from my dr saying i am in normal ranges?

Excuse me? Ive been hanging out on r/testosterone lately and no, im not in normal ranges and yes, over 50 with that low of test affects most dudes lives.

Im at a loss. Need to source a clinic or another source for test c. Ill continue getting bloodwork done, but at this point it looks like my dr. is not going to help me.

Its not like im sourcing gear to join bodybuilding competitions, im just trying to live a full life!!!

And, from everything ive read, test in my situation can be life changing, as long as I monitor it carefully.

* oh and mods, if you take me off of probation i swear on my last chances here i wont talk any further smack about any vendors no matter how i feel about them. Have learned my lesson. Also i just spent another big wad of cash at ERP even though all of thier coa's seem to be sourced from the times of ancient history... Can i say that?!?!?

Anyway, im a contributing member and i can be mostly good, ty dear for your kind consideration.

Similar to you, 55 overweight. Tested at 197 total, read around and was hesitant to take the TRT. So I found a compounding that offers enclomiphene citrate which works with your body's natural feedback loop, without making your balls shrivel up. I have been on 12.5 mg of enclomiphene citrate for 2.5 months and my T is up 120% to 440. Such a significant increase in such a short time they declined to up me to the 20mg per day I wanted.

I want my body to make its own hormones whenever possible and even though my T may not be as high as those on TRT, I know my balls are bigger.

Why not write back to your doctor citing definitive sources for what you think is the normal test. range and tell them you think it would help to get your numbers up? If a doctor can't have that conversation I would find a new doctor.

Some doctors just stay away from it. They know guys have been "abusing" it in the bodybuilding community for years. They tend to lean towards the mindset that they just want to avoid the topic at all costs. I tested at 246 the first time and 326 the second time. 47yr old male. 5'11", 255#. My doctor told me not to get too caught up in those numbers because those levels constantly cycle. I went to an online provider that had a lot of solid reviews and track record for not just giving it away. She told me that they like to see somebody my age be over 600. That's still almost double what I'm at naturally.

I have never a day in my life been concerned about the size of my nuts. lol Is that really a thing? The shaft? Sure, I've thought a couple of times that another inch would be nice to have. Wondered if this truly is in the realm of average....But I've never once pondered if I have large, average, or small testicles! 😂😂😂😂

You're on a caloric deficit, so your testosterone will be lower. Expecting muscle growth while on a caloric deficit doesn't make sense.

Your free testosterone looks really good though, so that's great news. If you want the opinion of other medical professionals, try Defy Medical.

Not really about the size of the huevos. But just pointing out that TRT will make them shrivel and inhibit their function. I have several friends who are on TRT and like to run around 1200, which is crazy in my opinion. They have to give blood monthly to keep up.

Looking at your test results, yeah - your Total is very low but your Free is in the normal range - that said - it is very low in the normal range. That's probably what he's referring too.

Since we are on a GLP-1 forum, I would like to point out that testosterone production is directly correlated to insulin resistance. So as you lose weight and lower your A1c you potentially could make more testosterone. The hormone insulin inhibits the natural production of testosterone, it throws your body out of balance.

The following courtesy of AI

1. The Direct Hit to the Testes

Research shows that insulin resistance directly impairs the Leydig cells in the testes. These are the cells responsible for churning out testosterone. When your body is resistant to insulin:

• The Leydig cells become less responsive to Luteinizing Hormone (LH)—the "start engine" signal from your brain.

• Even if your brain is screaming for more testosterone, the testes don't "hear" the signal as clearly, leading to lower output.

2. The "Belly Fat" Factor (Aromatization)

Insulin resistance is almost always tied to increased visceral (belly) fat. This fat isn't just storage; it’s metabolically active and contains an enzyme called aromatase.

• Aromatase takes the testosterone you do have and converts it into estrogen.

• Higher estrogen levels then tell your brain, "We have plenty of hormones," which causes the brain to slow down the signal to produce more testosterone.

3. SHBG Suppression

Insulin levels significantly influence Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG), a protein that carries testosterone through your blood.

• High insulin levels signal the liver to produce less SHBG.

• While this might sounds like it would leave more "free" testosterone, low SHBG is often a marker of metabolic dysfunction and is consistently linked to lower total testosterone levels over time.

4. Inflammation and the Brain

Chronic insulin resistance creates a low-grade inflammatory state. This inflammation can disrupt the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal (HPG) axis. Essentially, the "command center" in your brain becomes less efficient at monitoring and regulating your hormone levels, leading to a drop in production.

The Silver Lining: Reversibility

The good news is that because this relationship is bidirectional, fixing one often helps the other. Improving insulin sensitivity—is one of the most effective "natural" ways to boost testosterone.

Plenty of TRT clinic's that will treat you. If you're in Florida I can PM you mine. He looks at everything holistically and goes for symptom relief.

Did he check your Luteinizing hormone?

Like Turbo-Farmer said, Enclomiphene citrate. My longevity Dr, gets it ordered through Pure Pharmacy. Works quite well, $300 for 90 - 25mg pills. That will last me over a year, daily 25mg took me from 690 to 1500++ in 3 months and 4X my Estradiol, fyi. I just restarted after a 6 month break from it, doing 2X a week after my surgery for 90 days. I'll check it then and adjust, don't need it but nice to have.

1500 holy smokes, that’s crazy. How was your BP with that much testosterone flowing.

Pretty normal actually my average is about 110/70 this last year off of it. When I was taking 25mg 1X a week and got it dialed in, my TT was 986 and Estradiol was 48. I used to be almost 600lbs, so I monitor my BP daily. Never really saw a baseline increase, while TT was that high. I'm not on any BP medz right meow, but the 10mg of daily Tadalafil (just started) does bring me down to a little over 100+/60+ range last couple days, HR 60. So something to pay attention to.

I always wondered why people always get caught up on the small balls thing. When I started TRT everyone kept talking about how it'll make my balls shrink and the only thing I could think of is that it would be awesome. Maybe if they shrink a bit they will stop sticking to my leg in the summer! lol
