Really interesting info. I know there are safety issues with peptides that should be improved but as soon as the government starts to regulate them, I see them being even more expensive and out reach for many people. The single vial online sellers are often too expensive for many people and compounded would be even more. It may ,however, reduce the liability factors for doctors to be able to prescribe it as many functional doctors don't want to get involved.

It was interesting. I listened to the first half and might finish it tomorrow. What struck me as odd was that the peptide guy didn’t put the > 500 lb jelly roll on a weight loss peptide?? And he came up with some protocol to get him to lose 250lbs. They also seemed to talk about glp-1s in a negative light as if it’s not a peptide that has helped more people than all the other peptides combined. Pretty weird to me.

Still interesting but not sure I trust this guy.

Well if they put people on GLPs they would lose a ton of upsell. He is after all CEO of company that needs to make 💰 .

Just added this straight to my playlist – thank you! Brigham Buhler always cuts through the noise. Really curious about the regulatory outlook on peptides and what formal approval would actually mean for the community.

Thanks for the heads up! I actually first heard about peptides in a previous episode and it led me pursue more research.

It was a great interview, highly recommend anyone in the peptide space listen to this and the previous ones with him. A lot of good discussion and thoughts on the future of the wellness market from someone actively participating in it.

That’s what I’m saying. Seems like he’s just waxing poetic about big pharma hogging all the $, but he’s trying to do the same thing with wellness clinics. He repeatedly calls it black market and acts like the only way to get peptides is through a wellness clinic when he knows he gets the stuff for his clinic from ….. china

My functional MD still believes its all about garbage in and garbage out, eat healthy and work out and you won't need GLP's which is true for many but not all when it comes to weight.. I liked the part about genetic testing. I have tried Tirz and Reta. TIrz was a big zero and raised my insulin resistance and I didn't lose a pound. Reta reduced my cholesterol levels and reduced IR and dropped my A1c by .1 and while I have lost a few pounds, the weight is not coming off very quickly. I would love to know what's going on. I'm already up to 10mg and it wasn't until 10 did I get any weight loss or feel any suppression.

GLPs are not some "black magic" that makes the weight come off magically. They suppress appetite which SHOULD put you in a caloric deficit which will make your body use the stored fat as energy which will make you lose weight.

if you are not losing any weight, you might not be in a caloric deficit. Maybe you need to move a little more (more steps).

If you are not feeling any appetite suppression then that could be something else (bad batch of reta? / not a hyper responder to GLPs?). Maybe you just need a higher dose and a little time for it to work its way in your body...

How long have you been on Reta?

Yeah I wonder if there is something that comes down to genetics. For what it’s worth I know someone who had to go to 15 mg of legit zepbound before they started to get good appetite suppression.

I think the whole calories in / calories out argument is so dumb. People will say you can eat only twinkies and as long as you’re in a deficit you will lose weight. Okay that’s true in theory but we live in reality and no one has ever lost weight eating twinkies.

Of course he used glp1s. If he didn't, they wouldn't have to constantly say otherwise.

I swear I read that he was on a GLP1 or another weight loss medication, so I don’t know why Rogan keeps saying he did it without medication

Maybe try sema? It seems very good for appetite suppression. I take 1 mg of it and can barely eat.

I think some people are metabolically blessed and never gain weight and think that these glp1's are just a gimmick

I started watching people eat when I was in 3rd grade. Yes some people can eat what they want and never gain a pound. I have a SIL that claims she is thin because she doesn't eat sweets. However she orders a pizza, eats 2 slices with a glass of coke and then proceeds to open up some chips and dip and drink another glass of coke. If you ask her how many calories or how many grams of fat, carbs, protein and sugar she just ate, she has no clue because she never had to pay attention to weight problems.
