Hey everyone, first timer, wondering if anyone else has had this experience.

Put an order in, paying with Bitcoin. Suppler sent me the bitcoin address but I wasn’t able to send her money, it kept failing each time I tried to send it. It actually ended up locking my account, like it things the suppliers account is a hacker account or something.

Should I see it as a red flag and pick a new supplier?

Not sure I can list the supplier, but it’s one of the major ones listed on this site with seemingly a lot of positive reviews.

If you used PayPal, don’t. Unrelated to peps, but my account was locked when I tried to do anything crypto related on their platform. Use exodus wallet there’s a guide in the crypto corner section.

Purchase through Coinbase, Send to Exodus Wallet, Send Via Exodus to Vendor, much smoother process

Unfortunately, some companies, such as Kraken and PayPal, have blocked certain addresses in their apps.

Currently, the most popular payment method is the Exodus wallet. I recommend it; it worked when Kraken Wallet was blocking my payment.

I’ve got Coinbase but haven’t sent any payments to anyone yet. Why did u send to exodus wallet can payment not be made through Coinbase direct to vendor. I’m in uk too

I sent it via the Exodus wallet because Kraken and Kraken Wallet had disabled the option to send to my seller’s wallet. Kraken’s technical support replied that it is not possible to send BC from their wallet to addresses beginning with: bc1p(...)

This is the way........here is a tutorial to share @BrocolliBrian . If memory serves, someone on this site made it. Forgotten who ...... but it is a fantastic guide using CB to Exodus. Takes a little time to go thru the steps but it is crystal clear how it is done.

With UK regulations, you have to provide Name and Address with Coinbase, Vendors don't typically like giving away that information and most of the time they are curious of why, Exodus skips that part as you are transferring to yourself to begin with, Regulations are in place due to money laundering

i use coinbase wallet and it works flawlessly. Is there any reason why i should switch to exodus?
Depends on location, if there are no restrictions and its working perfectly fine keep to just Coinbase 🙂

Too many things to do and I will get confused so I may just try using Coinbase for next purchase see how it goes

Hopefully one of the "wise ones" will chime in as I'm old and have CRS...but there are some security/privacy concerns using coinbase to pay vendors. THe wallet ( Exodus for sure - not certain of others ) is the way to go. I know it's a pain in the arse but once you get a wallet and send yourself some coin and then pay a vendor a time or two it ain't so bad.

YMMV

Every company that you can purchase Bitcoin theough in the US hates you and hates Bitcoin and doesn't want you to ever transfer your money out of their possession. So you may find yourself having to contact support and being locked out for days at a time.

I miss the days of unregulated Bitcoin.

I’ve got the exodus app on mobile so must have a wallet but ain’t put any money in it yet so gonna try that first then. Thanks

I thought I had crypto figured out, I made 3 purchases using the Exodus/Paypal/Solana USDT guide here. Then yesterday Paypal wouldn't let me buy through Exodus. I had to call Paypal, unlock my account by answering a bunch of questions and even then it wouldn't unblock. I am going to try the above guide using Coinbase but does anyone know if I can just use the same steps listed in the instructions but use USDT instead of USDC? I already have some USDT and don't want to have to figure out how to change it. Thanks.
