Overweight is definitely better than obese.

BMI was never meant as a diagnostic tool for individuals. I too just recently am overweight and not sure if I'll make it to normal..... but never thought I was fully normal

Congrats. I was super pleased to get to size L from 7xl clothes. In the long term in terms of health, getting to overweight rather than obese removes the worst risks even if you do not end up lighter, so definitely worth celebrating.
