Or Sema? I was chatting with someone about grey market and realized I didn’t know how long it had been out there. Just mild curiosity. 3 years? 5? Longer?

It takes China about 6 minutes to start reproducing pretty much anything that westerners will spend money on. Hermes purse, here you go! Cartier bracelet? Say no more! Tag Hauer watch? Here you are, Giulio!

I’d say they started working on it as soon as the market for it opened.

I have no idea, but this sounds about right!

Ozempic was first approved in 2017, so take that as you will.
It doesn’t tell me much. I know how things work NOW, that there are grey peps available that are in the FDA approval pipeline (e.g., Reta). But that doesn’t tell me whether grey Sema was a thing a few years before its FDA approval date.

In fact, I never hear (read) about grey market of any GLP-1 before 2022/2021.

Ok...

Here you go, maybe this will help.

So, you weren’t around at the time. I get it. Most of us weren’t.

I’m asking those who were around and know. Certainly there has to be some folks who were hanging around Meso and remember when GLP-1s became the new grey thing.

Then why don't you go to Meso and search around instead of asking about it on a different site?

I can tell you that tirz first started showing up in late 2022/early 2023.

I asked on STG and this is one of the oldest mentions of Tirz on Meso.

Check out that price!

Thanks.

And looks like it was insanely priced!
I don't even wanna tell you what I paid for my first few vials from SAF, and then something like 10 or 12 kits of T10 from Tracy in May/June 2023.

Yes. $3.43/mg.

Do you know the going price for Tirz? 40 cents per mg.
I can't say with certainty the exact price per mg. I just paid .72 cents per mg. I expect prices to fluctuate as they do with any market. Unless there's information I'm not aware of.

Compare to

I was paying $25.00 for four Mounjaro auto-injectors, with insurance, all dosages all thru 2024. That’s $0.42/mg at the best (and $2.50/mg at the worst)

I paid the list price for four Mounjaro auto-injectors of $1,079.77 in January when my insurance dropped coverage. I paid that once and only once. That’s $18/mg (at my 15mg/week)

I paid $1,794.00 in February for 6 months of 15mg/week (12x30mg/3ml vials) compounded Hallendale tirz (and I was really happy about that at the time!) That’s $4.98/mg.

I paid $225.00 for grey 10x30mg lyophilized tirz vials in March, as I got tired of pinning 150 units/week, really really fast. I combined it with the compounded so I’d only need to pin 75 units/week. And I said I couldn’t believe I how happy I was about the compounded price. That’s $0.75/mg.

I knew I could get a better price, but as my first grey buy, I wanted a vendor that had a very active user group that does a lot of 3rd party testing, to feel comfortable. As it’s NOT always just about the cheapest price, take the Ouisa Pharmacy issue/incompetence/fraud for example.

All but my insurance and grey was more than that grey price in June of 2023.

Well, you can definitely get it cheaper from QSC-like vendors these days.

But, let’s assume 72 cents. Just 3 years ago, you’d be paying almost 5x as much and you’d have to buy 3.5x as much.

That might not seem like a lot to you, but… uh…

No. I’m talking about grey market prices over time. I get that you have elected to use what you paid for name brand and compound to justify paying way more than you should for grey, but that’s not the point here.
