Was wondering what’s recommended for recovery for the over 45 year old Jiu Jitsu players out there? Currently on 4th week of 2mg Reta so wondering what’s out there I can take with it that is good for recovery. Feels like I’ve been ran over by a truck every night after a solid grappling session.

I'm 39. Injured my knee in bjj. Started bpc 157 at 2 shots of 500 mcg per day. Did one upon waking and then on before bed. Did this for a month.

The first week, all minor aches and pains gone plus pissed out inflammation weight. By the end of treatment was back to sparring with no issues.

I know always keep a stash of bpc 157 just in case. I also picked up some tb500. I haven't tried it yet, no reason to. But they are supposed to work synergistically and increase recovery. They call it the wolverine stack.

Hope this helps.

I do manual-ish labor and had a very tight sore Achilles tendon in my ankle from the weird way I was crouching and rising back up, was over weight and it was a lot to move constantly with, I even had 2 weeks off with not much movement (supper chill vacay) and it still hurt almost as bad as when working every day. Bpc 157 and tb helped within weeks, but I think you should keep it up for a cycle or whatever for long term repair.

I also just looked into b12 variation shots and that sounded interesting.

B12(Methy|cobalamin)

I first heard of the wolverine stack BPC+TB500 from dudes at the gym. Good to probably start with one or the other of those. I personally started using BPC-157 for some knee issues I've been having for trying to be a fat athelete and it's been surprising how well its worked so far.

Were you doing spot injections into the knee or is BPC 157 able to injected into the stomach and treat everything that way? Any side effects running the bpc?

I'm not a jiu-jitsu person, but I have chronic injuries from hypermobolity! I've been taking bpc 157 for a little less than a week and i was shocked at how much it's been helping my recovery despite doing some strenous lifts last week and being on call nurse for a friend at end of life, lots of driving too (which impacts my glutes)

I see. Do you spot inject in the injury spot or is it able to be injected to the stomach? Any side effects from it at all?

I did not inject directly into my knee because I am not insane. I did one in the thigh area above the injured knee and one in the stomach. Since it is systemic the area shouldn't technically matter. However, there are a couple, although small, studies that showed spot injections might be a couple percent more effective. So, I decided to split the difference just to make sure lol.

It is systemic so the stomach will be fine.

Reports like this are why I caved in and finally started using BPC yesterday. I have been storing BPC since April. So I don't know if I was more lazy or skeptical.

For tendons and ligaments, a related oral supplement is cissus quadrangularis, "one [of the] most prominent herbs used in the treatment of diabetes, asthma, tissue regeneration, etc."

I agree. None of the chinese peptides are anywhere near the level of sterility required for injecting anywhere but subcutaneously. Injecting even a few bacteria into any structure let alone a joint is an extremely bad idea. Septic arthritis will totally destroy the joint and require hospital and surgery/washout/drainage/iv antibiotics etc. And without experience and training injecting joints in general is not close to safe. Most non specialist doctors won't do it even with perfectly sterile equipment, environment and supplies. Injecting into or around tendons is not quite as dangerous as directly into a joint but still much higher risk than under the skin in your stomach or thighs. If you get an abscess there it is not really a medical disaster, getting one in or around a tendon or joint is a much worse problem that could cause long term damage.
