Hi guys. It's nearly go time for me. If any of you kind, lovely folks would mind answering some last minutes questions? For context, I'm only setting up for Tirz here. I also added my shopping list below that, in case I forgot something.

Do I use a new filter per sterile vial?
I was thinking of splitting 30mg into 2-3 vials, and freezing the extras so I'm not using a vial for more than 4-6 weeks.

3mL syringe barrels ok?

How many barrels per filter process?
50SGM just "flushes" the filter out with air in the end.

PDF guide uses just one, but I'm wary of contaminating the BAC vial even if I'm only pushing 0.1 mL of air with same barrel I recon'd with.

I'm probably just overthinking lol

Is there any big benefits over using two different kinds of needle lengths for filtering vs. just one length?
5/8″ (16mm) and 1 1/2″ (40mm)

vs. just the longer one?

The PDF guide mentions both and uses 4x of the shorter one (including for venting) and 1x of the longer one.

50SGM's post didn't mention lengths, just the gauges.

Vial Opener - is it a bad idea to use this to suck up the last drops or whatever

pH Test strips - I put in a pack, but that's probably not very useful unless I get KLOW or any of its components, right?

References I used:

ForestForay's PDF Recon and Filter Guide from the STG website

WLBLD's First Supply Order from Last Month

and 50ShadesGreyMarket's Filtering Guide from last November

In Cart (Total: ~$120):

2x 30mL BAC water

100x 3mL Syringe Barrel

100x Needle, 25g 5/8"

100x Needle, 25g 1.5"

20x Sterile PES Syringe Filter - 0.22um 4mm

10x Sterile Empty Vial, 5mL

1x pH Test Strips

1x Vial Opener

Buying In-Person:

Insulin Syringes

Alcohol Prep Pads

70% Iso Alcohol

Spray Bottle

Maybe a metal baking sheet or something

Sharps Container

Saved for (much) Later Wishlist:

Pens

Pen Needles

Sterile Cartridges
(I'm thinking of getting them from Turtle, but am currently unsure how to handle a four-pack)

Hydrapeak Food Jar, 32oz

Silicone Vial Holders

Compatible Ice Pack

Desiccants
Someone mentioned using molecular sieves instead of silica gel for temperatures below 0. Is this overkill? The listings claim they're reusable, but they're also relatively cheap.

"Vials" for holding the desiccants
Potentially 3D printed.

I never take the filter off of the needle that penetrates the vial/cart and assume that any needle taken out is contaminated so yeah, one time use.

I pre-wet the filter with a different syringe before I start the filtering process.

I'd personally recon to 1mg/10U if you're just starting out at 2.5mg or 2mg/10U, if you're going to 5mg. So you could recon with 3ml and split into a 1ml and a 2ml vial to keep it more simple. The annoying thing is that you can't fit more than 3ml in the lyo vial so if it's a 35mg COA, it's probably easier to just go with 2mg/10U and give 12U (2.4mg) for the first 2 shots and 13U for the second 2 shots. You won't want to be doing 75U for 7.5mg.

3ml syringes are fine, though I prefer to use 50U or 100U low dead volume for accurate measurements. It probably doesn't matter don't trust a COA to better than 10%. You probably don't need pH strips or a vial opener, if you have thumbs.

I like these metal trays for working on, but it's really up to you.

https://www.amazon.com/SONGMICS-Organizers-Countertop-Expandable-UKCS001B01/dp/B07G78S5Z8

You could just put down some paper towels and spray them down on a counter top.

You can probably buy 70% alcohol in a spray bottle at Target or Walgreens.

Prep pads (you only need the small ones to wipe the rubber stoppers) are easy.

Syringes depend on where you are. In some states you can't easily get them.

edit: Oh yeah, and I wouldn't bother freezing a single vial of Tirz. If it's filtered with good BAC, and no extra punctures after filling, I'd probably go 60+ days.

Certainly, the compounders ship 90day supplies and say just refrigerate.

pre-wet it with BAC, I presume? The syringe that you use, is it for that purpose only?

1 U = 0.01 right? So you're talking about the 0.5mL, 1.0mL syringes. Not necessarily the insulin ones. The store I'm looking at is out of stock though.

I'm gonna try and stick with the lowest effective dose for as long as possible, but I'll take note for when I titrate up.

What's the maximum volume you'd inject subq? Do you stick to 50U or lower?

Could you elaborate on what you mean by this? The vendor's COA is about 31mg, and a 3P report said 33mg. Any thoughts on that?

When I posted that, I was thinking of getting a box of 100, but I might get 2 10pk bags of both 29G and 30G

Would you ever consider batch reconning, freezing, and filtering after thawing?

Regarding your syringes. I have the 3ml for reconstituting. I use .05 and 1ml-31G/8mm (5/16) syringes. 25 seems kind of big to me. I know my wife wound smack me if I used a 25G. This is for Reta.

Better placebo effects with 25G harpoons for fringe peptides, haha.

For IM for glutathione, I use 27G, which isn't bad at all.

My Testoterone friends who lift including my son use 23-25G 1" syringes. I call them horse needles.

Thank you for this. As good a starting point for my research as any, I suppose. Lot more to it all than I expected. Best of luck with it!

Haha the 25G is just for recon. I’m getting separate insulin syringes for pinning

I use a 13mm filter. I've read 4mm is for up to 1ml fluid. 13mm is for 1-10ml. Don't forget to flush the holdback. 0.07ml on a 4mm and 0.28ml on a 13mm. Either adjust your BAC for recon or just be a bit over.

If you get a tray upon which to filter, get stainless steel.

I researched and really thought I would be ok the first time. I took everything out and panicked. I couldn't remember anything I'd read. I ended up finding a YT video and followed along. LOL

Thanks! TIL. I haven’t of this before.

I’ll get 13mm ones next time. I’ll have to reup on vials anyway. So glad I didn’t get a 100pk 😂

It’ll be a little more tedious but I’ll just filter 1mL per vial for now.

You can use the 4mm. Just go slow. Filter what you need. Don't slam it through the filter. You'll be ok. 🙂

Hi guys, another super newbie here. I am only now just hearing about filtering. Is this protocol or personal preference?

If you're just starting and planning to recon each vial one at a time, can you get away with not filtering? Just one larger syringe for recon and individual ones for use?

It's personal preference, but feel pretty strongly that I wouldn't inject anything that I hadn't filtered. There are plenty of pictures of things floating in reconned peptides. Bugs, hair, etc.

The 0.22 micron filters are small enough that they filter bacteria. Sterility is often an issue with peptides, so I think it just makes logical sense to filter out bacteria. I buy filters directly from biologix; a pack of 100 is just over $50 shipped to my door. https://biologixusa.com/products/bi...female-luer-lock--male-luer-slip-100-pcs-pack
