FDA Intends to Take Action Against Non-FDA-Approved GLP-1 Drugs

Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is announcing its intent to take decisive steps to restrict GLP-1 active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) intended for use in non-FDA-approved compounded drugs that are being mass-marketed by companies

Time to stock up from half a freezer full to a full freezer. Or better yet, get another freezer (you know you want to anyway).

Will it also affect the grey market or only the compounding pharmacies?
Just compounding. FDA has no control over the clandestine APIs being pumped out by Chinese labs. And customs already looks for and seizes gray market peps that they find during random searches.

Like in December there will be a rush to stock up on grey
I'm pretty new to this particular industry, but that was a tempest in a teapot if I ever saw one. One of my domestics that was priced pretty reasonably before that got too big for their britches, raised their prices too much ~50% for my preferred GLP in 2 months), and lost my business (or at least any GLP portion of it, they're fine for singles of certain things). So this trend seems to be that domestics are raising their prices while CNs are coming down with theirs, and also responding well to market demands to open up US warehouses so that people can avoid customs hassles and potential for losing Global Entry privileges, etc. I was pretty predisposed to and in the process of moving toward CN anyway, but faced with a~5-10% premium for a CN company with a US warehouse vs. paying through the nose with a domestic reseller, the choice was pretty easy.

Oh please protect us from weight loss, lowered A1C, and increased health, FDA. What would we do without you? /s

Agreed! I've got 10 years worth at a mid dose in the deep freezer... seriously considering making that 10 years worth at 15mg/week. If I have to buy even one month worth direct from Lily, that equates to like 2 years worth on grey. 10 years worth sounds insane but that is cheap insurance since I plan to use it for the rest of my life. Plus it's just kinda fun buying it for some strange reason lol.

I again will continue to doubt the efficacy of the FDA in regulating anything.

How would you expect any United States regulatory agency, that has been gutted over past 20(?) years, to do anything effectively. Both sides of the aisle have been neutering all of these agencies top to bottom. Budget, manpower, legal authority. You name it.

This isn't unique to the FDA. See FTC/EPA/SEC. Imagine if you saw an article that said the SEC is really going to start taking action against insider trading.......lol. That the EPA was going to go after industrial contamination.

Not to fearmonger, because do not listen to me, I have anxiety issues and a fear of failing supply chain that I just barely keep in check and do not allow to devolve into full-on hoarding. But I really do believe that someday, it WILL be real. I know it's never been real before and it's always been business as usual, but grey as it stands is INSANELY easy, INSANELY inexpensive, INSANELY legal, and it all just feels much too good to stay true forever when there are powerful billion-dollar companies who lose money to it.

I suspect direct to researcher grey is still a very small consumer of these peptides, overall.

I have about a year of compound Tirzepatide to work through and the fearmongering is real. I'm debating buying a bunch of grey kits after seeing this article. Seems like something similar happened last year and cause the same type of panic so that's keeping me at bay currently haha

The only way gray gets significantly impacted, I think, is if Big Pharma somehow convinces CCCP to crack down on it as part of some trade deal or something. Even then, I think they might shut down the distributors temporarily but they'd spring back up eventually.
