I cannot know if the reaction was a allergy or some other side effect from reta, but it definitely sounds like you were pushing the dose increases too hard given the side effects you describe. Sounds more like hayfever/sinus infection, plus side effects. It is not clear from the description how hungry you were when you were increasing doses, but it sounds like you were not . If a dose makes you feel like crap in general it is a good reason to either stay at that dose and hope it settles down or decrease the dose, given you did not feel like doing much on 1mg I am not sure how hungry you were or why you increased the dose then. The second dose increase sounds like a plain bad idea given how you were feeling on 2mg. GLp-1 receptor activation causes reduced appetite but it also causes gastrointestinal side effects and can cause a central illness response, with malaise and not feeling like doing anything ( I had that from low doses of ozempic )Stayinalive said:01/30/2026 217lbs, started Reta, 1mg (also taking BPC, TB, and GHK-Cu at this time). Reduced apatite. Not feeling much like doing too much.
02/13/2026 211lbs, Titration to 2mg after 2 weeks, more noticeable lack of apatite, nausea, some lethargy, increased protein, psyllium husk fiber and magnesium.
03/06/2026 200lbs, Increased to 3mg, feeling pretty nauseous, unwell, after a couple of days, decided to go back to 2mg for next time.
03/13/2026 195lbs, reduced to 2mg, hoping to straighten this out soon. Experiencing increase in mucous in back of throat, could be because of lawn maintenance or peptides. Wait and see.
03/20/26 198lbs, increased mucous, feeling like mucous is getting thicker, could still be from grass or pollen, sneezing my head off for a few weeks now.
03/27/26 195lbs, still at 2mg, considering ceasing Reta and other peptides to see if responsible for darkening mucous.
04/03/26 196lbs, ceased all peptides to find out what's causing the congestion in the throat
04/10/26 195lbs, no peptides taken, for about a week, symptoms seem to be abating, very slowely.
04/20/26 198lbs, Started back with BPC (known good peptide), no symptoms
04/23/26 199lbs, added TB peptide, no symptoms
Lost 22lbs after 8 weeks. Not sure if allergic to Reta, will try lower 1mg dose on 4/27/2026
Sensitivity to adverse effects of GLP drugs is extremely variable, but usually relates to being sensitive to the effects on appetite as well, so low doses might suit you or at least very gradual increases, like 0.5mg every 1- 2 months rather than 1mg every 2-3 weeks. As far as I can tell you were down 22 lbs in 6 weeks so huge rate of weight loss for a low dose , perhaps a bit too fast to feel OK, so you do not seem to require a high dose at this point to lose weight. No idea how much weight you are trying to lose, but the average weight loss from 1mg of reta in a year is 9%, so low doses can work quite well, especially for those less severely overweight. You might even want to consider starting at 0.5mg for a month or 2 to see what happens and if it avoids the feeling like not doing anything.
