Hi again! I’m seeing a lot of you talk about using pens. I’ve only been using insulin needles but the problem is sometimes I’m using 5-6 per day based on the stack. I started cleaning them with alcohol but later found out that whenever you do that it removes the silicone coating on the needle and it is definitely more noticeable at injection sites. Just wanted to get everyone’s opinion on if a pen is worth it, and if so, a brand that you might recommend? Thanks in advance!

I have pens and I prepare pens for other family members, but I like using a syringe, mostly, for myself.

I'd say if you have peps that are a low dose, so where the vials are being used for a while, I'd go with a pen. For example, I pin glutathione but I do a pretty big dose, so there are only about 3 injections per vial for me, so a pen would be a fiddly waste of time. But for glp's if you're in a vial for a while, pen makes sense.

I would not ever reuse syringes though.

The nice thing about a pen is that it's a fresh sharp needle every time because it's not getting dulled by drawing out of the vial first.

Other than GLP-1's, you can mix most peptides together in the same syringe at the time of injection. I started doing this after my Longevity Dr, said it was fine as he does it himself. Just don't premix and stick a syringe back in the fridge for later. If this helps you a little, it did me.

Wait, so I use NAD+, GHKCU, AND GLUTATHIONE. Can I put them in the same syringe?

Are you reusing your insulin needles? If so, please don't do that. It isn't hygienic or sanitary. Insulin needles are single use only. They are cheap enough.

I use insulin syringes. It's easy and no fiddling. 31g 5/16" .3ml for small dose pep and 1ml for Tz.

Edited to correct to syringes.

Using Insulin needles for the weekly dose of Tirz. I got gifted 1,000 needles from a diabetic in the family.

Just started using an auto pen for GHK-Cu. Can't see the contortions I'd have to do to pin that in my glute daily! But the autopen isn't exactly easy to hit that spot either. Button requires a pretty firm push. I'm wondering if the 32ga needles I bought for it are too small?

I recently picked up some convipens from a group buy in the LS Testing Discord, and I’m kind of hooked. They’re totally unnecessary, but they make daily injections so much easier. For my GLPs, I’m sticking with insulin syringes since it’s just a once a week injection.

I'm a syringe girl myself. I like the idea of pens, just so I don't have all these used syringes but I am also an impatient person, I don't think I'd stick with monkeying around filling a pen and injecting it.

Thankfully I have a monthly subscription of 100 syringes that arrives at my door every month, so I don't really have to think about it.

Do you go through that many in a month?? Personal use? For the horses too?
That will pin me, my son and my dogs. I have separate needles and syringes for the horses as they have thick skin and a 31g would bend or break...so they get 26g

I also sell some of my peps to friends and family, I usually throw in a pack of syringes for them now and again.

Edit to add...when I'm doing an individual vial KLOW stack, I can be pinning around 3 to 5 a day depending on what I'm running...that eats up any spares I have left around if I'm doing that much. I typically combine several into one syringe, but add maybe Tirz and an Epi cycle and viola...pincushion.

Have you used epitalon on your dogs? I give it to my girl

If you're inpatient a pen is a huge win. Filtering (a positive) into the cartridge each time you reconstitute isn't a big deal and you save drawing the insulin needle every single time. Just wipe with alcohol (same as vial), screw on the little pen needle (easy), dial dose, and inject. No fussing trying to see if your syringe dose is accurate, etc.

interesting...I may try one out just to check. I wouldn't be adverse to having less used syringes around.

I use 30mg vials of Tirz and Reta. I recon each with 3ml bac, then filter each into their own cartridge.

I get 27 doses of each. So that's 54 syringes saved. 54 times I don't inject possibly contaminated air into my vial, or dull a needle I then inject with..

Since I also pin semax and Klow this multiplies.

Think about it.

I am using and liking the V1 pens. I like the control I have with them, in placement to choose an area less sensitive ( I can touch the needle point to skin to find it) and the speed of injection.

I bought mine from Alibaba, but I have seen the same ones at underground supply, allthingspeptides, and peppens. I like the different colors which makes it easy to identify, so I dont label them.

Using a pen made my life so much simpler. And, pen needles take up way less space in my sharps container, so I don't go through them so quickly. It's only a few more small steps after reconstituting, which you are doing anyway.
