I'm sticking with tirz for now. It's cheaper too, so I can have a bigger hoard. Then if I need a boost, I will add survo or switch to reta.

I’m making my first order tomorrow so I’m glad you said this! My research has pointed me to the direction of Tirz & Reta for GLP1 and cagri and a few others for additional supplementation.

Sema did absolutely nothing so I must move on. Are you saying I should start with Tirz first? I know Reta is a powerhouse but if Tirz works, it works.
IMO the most conservative progression is Semaglutide first because it works on your GLP-1 receptor. Then, Tirzepatide because it hits GLP-1 and GIP. Finally, Retatrutide which hits GLP-1, GIP and GCG.

How much do you plan to lose? Are you planning on staying on a maintenance dose for a long time?

I went to Reta from Tirz because I don’t plan on staying on it for that long. The triagonist part sold me. Working slowly to increase dose without symptoms.

100+ but as long as I can get food noise to go away, it won’t take me long as I enjoy being active. With no food noise and a good diet, 100lbs will be a breeze. So… not long I guess? Idk at minimum I’d say 6 months or so I suppose.

I really don’t understand why people are starting on Retatrutide. You have nowhere to go once you max it out, with the exception of adding Cagri.
That’s why I don’t exercise and I make sure tons of food regularly, even more than I’d like to eat. I try to avoid having nowhere to go if something doesn’t work.

Not really. My point is that the nowhere to go argument is likely to lead a person away from effective weight loss interventions. If you take victim C for weight loss and it doesn’t work, yes, you have plenty of other options, but that hardly militates towards taking vitamin C.

I’m more sympathetic to the argument that folks who haven’t tried other GLP-1 drugs should start with an already approved GLP-1 drug because Reta hasn’t made it out of clinical trials. Yes, I know initial results seem promising, but that doesn’t make up for the lack of data and review so far. However, I don’t want to be too preachy: I do take Reta.

Just doing some quick math, the most weight you should be losing per week is 2 lbs max (I’m losing about 1.4lbs a week and I work out twice a day, fasted morning runs or swims for an hour, then Orange theory fitness type HIIT class at night). So for 100+ lets give the grace of a year-52 weeks. If you take tirzepatide it’s cheaper but most likely you may have to increase to higher doses due to stalls. With retatrutide, it may be more costly but you could potentially get the same fat loss results at a lower dose. At the end of the day, you will lose weight on either!

The 2 lbs per week is to prevent muscle loss, saggy skin, gallstones, etc. you can read up on it to get more insight!

In my opinion, it's okay to lose up 1% of your bodyweight per week on average.

I think this is an important distinction and would add that when first starting it is possible to lose even more if you have been living a sedentary and excessive high calorie lifestyle for many years.

A 400lb person going from 4k cal to >2kcal and adding exercise will certainly lose more per week than a 240lb person going from 3kcal to 2kcal and have already had some exercise.

I lost quite a lot my first 4 weeks and did not achieve average weight loss for many months of less than 2lb. My final resulted in average of 1.6lb on goal.

There are so many factors.

Week Two

Well I suppose it's that time. As of this morning I am down 11lbs. I've been weighing right after waking up and going to the bathroom every morning for the most consistent daily weight. Averaging 1.5lbs a day, but I am in a MASSIVE deficit, as well as cranking up my daily activity. I've essentially cut out all bread products, still eating pasta a fair bit, but trying to stick to a mostly protein and fat diet. Still plenty of carbs for energy, but from different sources. Almost like a dirty Keto or filthy carnivore diet. But I have always enjoyed beef, and have found it to be pretty easy skipping a bun or rolling up sandwich meat with some mustard in the middle.

Throughout this week, I didn't feel much. No mention able side effects aside from my BMs being more frequent, but lower volume than typical. I used to be a one a day guy, but now it's more like 5 or 6 times. Maybe it's the protein. Cravings, hunger, and urges to eat were kind of hit and miss. The first couple days I didn't feel hungry at all, but was able to eat just fine. Day 3 and 4 I noticed my appetite had lowered to a point of being very indecisive on what I wanted to eat. Day 5 was a very lazy day for me and I ended up snacking out of convenience, reaching over and stealing some of whatever my girlfriend was munching on while we were watching TV, but I actually had normal "hunger" feeling that day as well. The feeling of an empty stomach, or hunger growls. Then, yesterday and today were my biggest deficit days, I felt like I was struggling to find motivation to eat today. I even made a batch of homemade rice crispy treats at 100cal each to try and be excited about some kind of sweet treat, but impressively ate one and individually bagged up the rest for later.

So, first week impressions are solid. I did another 0.5 today, and as of now I think I will be staying at 0.5 for the foreseeable future. It seems like it's doing plenty for me at this dose. Even if it's all in my head, I'm staying in a deficit and have voluntarily gone on walks twice this week because I hadn't hit my step count or activity goals for the day on my watch.

According to my body composition scale, my muscle mass hasn't changed. However, I know it isn't a certain measurement. Regardless, I do feel better day to day, and I'm excited to see the results of week Two.

Thanks you, everyone, for any insight or information!

Week three:

Little late update, Tuesday marked the start of week 3. I am doing 0.5mg again because it appears to be continuing to work. Very minimal hunger of cravings throughout the day, no problem staying inna defecit. But it appears as though I have hit my first stall.

First week, down 10.0lbs

Second week, down 7.8lbs

Third week, been at 281-281.5 for the last couple days.

I am considering increasing my calorie count for the day, as I have been between 1000 and 1200cal for the last 3 days so far, when before I was closer to 1600 daily. I might just ride it out a couple more days and see where it goes, and consider increasing dose on Tuesday. I also considered taking another 0.5 today or tomorrow to give a boost.

Still zero side effects, and according to my body comp scale and watch, muscle mass is unchanged. I am a mechanic so I am constantly using my arms and legs, but I have also been weight lifting a few nights a week.

Will update on Tuesday!

Back in like 2010, people were using HCG along with a calorie deficit to "burn stored fat". Supposedly it "turned on your fat burning". Didn't take me long to realize that it was only the calorie deficit that was causing people to lose weight. And then studies from Mayo clinic and a few other places stated it had no effect on fat burning/weight loss. I worked in a small family doctor's office, and the Dr was big into it. Tried it, along with the rest of the office, noticed nothing, stopped it.
In 2011, my husband & I took HCG drops for 3 mos. & we both lost 50 lbs. & stopped. Weight gradually came back on. I soon began waking up with a numb & tingling R arm. Thought I was dying. It felt like Pop-Rocks in my hands. I do have CI-PN, so not sure if from that. My oncology labs showed my B12 was really high. That’s when they weren’t able to label as HCG anymore & sold it more as aminos. Maybe it did work? We ate the same boring chicken w/ Johnny’s daily, salad w/ red wine vinegar, & carb were those awful brown crackers. Maybe apple too? But was it really urine from pregnant women that we put under our tongue? 😜

Milestone update, I woke up this morning and I have broken the 20lbs mark, and weighed in at 278.8! 21lbs down in 18 days, while gaining muscle mass.

For me it was the crushing fatigue, severe constipation and that none of my food tasted good anymore. If I was ok with sleeping 16 of 24 hours and being disgusted by the taste of all of my formerly favorite foods plus the digestive issues, I’d go back. I was losing faster on low dose Tirz.
This was me! Fatigue and some days I was so dizzy I couldn’t stand. Tirz never done that to me and I’m topped out at 15mg and have been for months. Gave it a 2 wk rest before trying Reta. Needless to say it wasn’t for me.

Week four.

Week three was a little weird for me. Still not having much for cravings or hunger, still hovering around 1200cal/day, yet I seem to be holding onto a lot of water weight. My lowest weight was on Sunday at 275.6, a total of 24.2lbs lost in 21 days. But since then I gained back up to 280.4 and have been steadily at around 278 for a couple days. I noticed I haven't been peeing nearly as much as I was for the first 2 weeks. I think my carb intake was a little high as I stopped going protein heavy and had some pasta for a few nights.

Needless to say, I know I am still making progress as far as fat loss goes, and considering I still feel the Reta is effective, I opted for 0.5mg again for week four. Today was 277.6lbs. I'm going to cut back on carbs again, add more fiber to offset what carbs I do have, and try to cram in more water throughout the day, with a little Celtic salt mixed in. I am averaging 1.0lbs per day and gaining muscle mass, so I am pretty comfortable with current progress and rate of loss. I'll check back on my next milestone!

Amazing results on the lowest possible dose.

Can you link to the body comp scale you are using, or mention the brand?

Thanks! I'm pretty surprised/impressed with how well its going, honestly. I'm curious how much of it is the Reta and how much is will power to not be fat anymore.

This is the exact scale I have been using for a couple years now.
