GLP-1 drugs came out in 2005 as a Type 2 diabetes treatment. But in recent years their popularity for weight loss -- and the cost -- has taken off.

True but the state needs permission to manufacture it from our brain wormed medical chief in Washington and will only be available to state medicaid patients ( the cost is killing their budget) . The governor is attempting to get other states to sign on to this. They also need to find a manufacturing facility which has FDA certification.

From someone just trying to figure things out. It's like "Quickie Lube" came up with the idea for an oil change. They patented it and charged $1000 for it. Although it could've saved cars from huge mechanical failure, most couldn't afford it and ended up with engine failure. Those who could, figured out how to get it done any way possible. In the process, "Quickie Lube" was seen as a greedy villain who sent cars to an early junk yard.
