Ayooooo let's discuss maintenance or "life after weightloss"

There is no conversion. If you want to gain 15lbs of muscle then you should temporarily switch gears and increase your consumption so that you are intaking a slight surplus. Then, after working your ass off for however long it takes to achieve your goal, you can switch gears again to get rid of the pounds of excess body fat you accumulated while consuming a surplus.

I'll be in the same boat in about 5lbs. I need to start exercising to get rid of this stubborn belly fat. I also have some dumbbells I need to start using.
Bro... You have dumbbells and you haven't been using them? Pass the controller.

So what i am getting from this thread is... no one ever completely gets off of reta/tiz, without supplementing something else in?
Not without gaining back 20-30lbs, usually.

Why not?

I just reached my goal with reta+cagri, so am asking myself the same question.

I lost most of my weight with tirz alone, so I could go back to it, but why would I stop the glucagon agonist?

I'm currently taking 7mg of reta every 3.5 days + 1.7mg of cagri every 7 days, so I'm thinking that the easiest thing to sustain would be to drop the reta to 1x/week, and add something else 3 days later, also 1x/week:

Reta 7-8mg + tirz 7-8mg

Reta 7-8mg + eloralintide 1mg (I have a kit on the way)

Reta 7-8mg + cagri 1mg

Zepbound (tirz auto-injector) 15mg 1x/week (I have a stash and keep buying it, because my insurance still covers it, and that's what I tell doctors)
Just because Tirz is a little easier on me. Less GI issues. Better food noise suppression.

44M. 60lbs down been on maintenance for about 4 weeks. I'm at 1mg of Reta every 5 days. Feels pretty good right now.

Do you use Tesa and Ipa?
I am at maintenance dose with 2mg tirz/week. I don't use tesa and ipa. But use 350mcg/day ipa+cjc1295 No Dac. At the beginning I was pinning 2x a day 175mcg. But hunger feeling was back. Finally found a good solution for it. Injecting once at 5 AM before I start working and don't eat anything until 12 PM. Getting hungry at about 9 -10AM. But just ignoring it. If the hunger noise is too hard, just setting the music harder on my truck 🤣 . After a while it dissappears. Then I know that it gets its energy from my last a few kg belly fat. I eat between 12 and 12:30 PM. But just some proteins and salade. Rest of the day goes on with a few small portions without any problems. Still losing every week about 1/2kg weight and weigh 76,5 kg at the moment. Also training an hour every 2 days. Weight lifting without pushing the limits and exercises for my belly fat. Progressing slowly but steadily. Lost 24,5kg in 8,5 months with 5mg tirz/week without titrating to a higher dose.

You do not mention how much weight you have lost, it is pretty important. If you started with severe obesity, then by all means try to maintain on low doses, but realistically the dose that caused the weight loss is much more likely to work than a lower dose, but so long as you do not wait too long and put on a lot of weight experimenting with lower doses before increasing, it is a pretty harmless experiment. If you had severe obesity higher doses long term are probably a better idea for long term reduction in many different diseases. If the starting point was less severe obesity or overweight, the approach is still really the same. The evidence says the dose used to lose the weight is the dose you should stay on, but lots of people on this forum have done it with lower doses. Long term weight loss maintenance is the hard part, but the most important for future health.

GLP drugs appear to address the root causes of obesity (overeating, food noise, sugar cravings, alcohol addiction, emotional eating.) The difference between someone who stays naturally slim without thinking about food, and someone who faces a constant compulsion to eat or make poor dietary choices, points to an underlying physical or mental issue rather than a simple lack of willpower. If you stop the glp drug, you invite the same problem that make you obese in the first place to come back. If someone has struggle all their life and have succeed now because of reta or tirz, they should never quit... their body/brain needs that. And it's okay. No shame to take a "supplement" when you have a deficiency. It's better to pin yourself to stay fit then pinning yourself insulin because you are diabetic and in bad shape.

Waddup pepper fam.

I'm 46, male, 5'11", current weight 178lbs.

I'm on 10mg Reta and am gonna give it 3 more months. I have about 15lbs I want to convert to lean muscle mass. I'm in the gym 5x/week and taking in as much protein as I can daily. But, I have an end-goal in sight and wanna discuss different approaches.

I don't want to go on a lower dose of Reta for maintenance. Nor do I want to just quit cold turkey, so to speak.

I am thinking of going back to Tirz, 5mg/week for maintenance and just riding it on out til the wheels fall off.

What do y'all suggest? What has worked for y'all that have went on maintenance and maintained healthy weight?

Some do.

But for example Ive lost over 100 pounds. Currently off glp1s for a medical.procedure, and want to eat EVERYTHING. It just depends on your willpower and how strong you are. If you can eat the right foods and right amounts without glp1s then god bless ya.

Its just that many people here on this site have..... difficult relationships with food and food choices and need the crutch. Me included. I am definitely not making good choices right now and eating things I haven't in nearly a year.
Scaring me a bit.. I have a procedure on June 24th and am going to pin my last Tirz shot tomorrow and then after the surgery.... Oh Boy... Should I be scared of the Food Noise?? 😅😅

I'm at my goal weight and don't really know what to do now. This last week I didn't take my shot just to kind of see what happened and I was ravenous so that's for sure not the answer. I'm thinking I'll just be a lifer, I'm hoping I can maybe go down in dose a bit or maybe switch to tirz, but really I like the reta so may as well stick with it. I've been obese for many years, I'm not gonna just magically maintain on my own now. Maybe in a few years my set weight brain problem will be better and I can go off? idk. time will tell I guess.

I’ve been at goal for a year, holding at 8mg Tirz/week, split dose.

Occasionally, I need a little help to curb the cravings and I take legit smidge of .13mg Sema.

Other weeks, I want to be able to indulge, and I lower to 2.5-3mg Tirz on my dose.

It would not be wise to get off the weight loss drug even after you have achieved your goal weight because these weight loss drugs like reta are good for longevity and biohacking purposes. Sure, they suppress appetite, but they also improve your insulin sensitivity and you burn more calories at rest and you have an overall better metabolic health. So even after the goal weight has been achieved, a nice low maintenance dose can go a long way so that also you don't rebound back and that hopefully good eating habits have formed during that weight loss period that even on a maintenance, there isn't going to be any problems with food and nutrition. There are more benefits to staying on than getting off. Also your mind is more free from thiinking about food.
