There is also less waste, needle plus syringe each pin goes into the sharps container instead of just a needle the size of a thimble from a pen. Not that I really care that much but it’s less trips to the sharps disposal so go less often. Could use luer lock needles but that seems less sanitary to reuse the barrel (do people do this, I’m not sure?) and also more expensive.
Then there is the convenience. Just pop a new needle on, select dose and go, as opposed to pulling out the vial, pulling the medication, then injecting it. Doesn’t seem like that much of a difference but it is noticeable. Especially if doing multiple pins per day.
I have 3 birds on the way and can’t find the Gansulin for less than $110, but would be interested in a group buy if anyone ever does one for the US.
