Looks like the FDA is flexing its muscles again (don't ask them how they got that muscle, it's all natural they'll assure you!).

ProRX is one of the bigger 503(b) outsourcing compounders of GLP-1s and certainly one of the more popular providers of compounded tirzepatide without additives and long BUDs.

Apparently they received a letter from the FDA instructing them to stop producing products that are not on the bulks or shortage lists. That letter has not yet been made public. ProRX is complying and has informed telehealth providers that it only has a few days of supply left and won't be making more.

Notably, ProRX has received several 483 letters from the FDA in the past, most recently in September of 2025 and it's unclear as to whether this is related to that failed inspection.

Some lore since I'm still heavily reddit addicted and bored.

So ProRx gets halted and they lose their minds. Don't blame them. Like I said, ProRx was the ONLY pharmacy I ever got compound from and I have 0 complaints.

But then! One of the larger telehealth guys chimes in and is all, "No guys, it's fine, all good. Don't panic." He has a bunch of lawyers of his looking into it, it's definitely only ProRx that's affected, no cause for concern. Then he kind of alludes to ProRx's inspection being the reason for them getting halted despite FDA swinging their government weiner around on compounding in general and not so gently reminding all of them that they're breaking the rules and they totally know about it. Nevermind that his telehealth at the time could not support panic buying because they required appointments and were booked out anyway, but no one notices that.

People kind of chill out. The cheaper, bigger telehealths all hop on the BPI & Hallandale train, things settle. But wait... what about BPI?! They're also a 503b, what's going on with them? Their lord & savior chimes in again to pinky promise BPI has not received any letters, they're all gucci, it was just ProRx.

Anyone who cautions people to find alternatives to BPI is smacked down and redirected to posts where someone who speaks with authority calms their fears and reminds them that ProRx was a headache to deal with and he's not surprised FDA clipped their wings.

In the midst of all this, someone finds out there's another 503b compounding pure tirz that also uses phenol, same as ProRx cause suddenly everyone is allergic to benzoyl alcohol after someone made some spreadsheets of additives and preservatives and that's why 2 people had some ISR's, and Hallandale won't suit them, they also ship 72mgx3 vials 👀 and there's minor drama revolving around these random ass telehealths people are finding that provide this pharmacy (maybe. You kind of have to call them and tell them that's the pharmacy you want and these people do not understand there is a very picky reddit cult who is about to descend on them with panic buys)

So ProRx 2.0 is running 7-10 days behind on shipping once the bigger teledudes pick it up. Large Good Weight Loss is still trying to remind everyone they also offer this pharmacy but no one wants to pay $600/3mo for it and is taking their chances with telehealths no one has ever heard of to save $150.

BUT THEN BPI IS STOPPED TOO. NOOO. Which brings us to the current drama of the sub losing their collective shit because they! were! promised! it was just ProRx. How could this happen?! No one warned them! The FDA definitely didn't send multiple warning letters or anything.

Intermingled in all that is the compound vets sitting on $20k worth of credit card debt after stockpiling last year saying "told you so!" and clutching their hydrapeaks, the recent stockpilers popping in with, "I had a bad feeling so I signed my husband and brother and dog up with different telehealths and snagged the last of the purple cap ProRx RIP 🙏," and then the ones who found grey on Tiktok with their snark, try too hard to be the cool kid, "mhmm this is why I chose to mix the black and white, iykyk 💅" comments that inevitably get deleted when their apparently only mod and her mom remember they moderate a massive internet community that is going through it right now.

Okay I'm done. I have no one in my real life to discuss this with and my boyfriend is sick of hearing me I'm sorry.

At this point I am still in that sub just to call out the Large Good Weight Loss guy out on his bullshit. He once sent me a DM to tell me something I said about him in a provider specific subreddit was a lie (it wasn't) less than five minutes after I posted the comment! I still can't wrap my head around that.

Thanks for this helpful reminder why I don't frequent that Reddit sub anymore. I used to be very active on that board, but it devolved after the March 2025 ban that never came to be. Lot's of mindless chatter. The post probably summed up weeks of reading 😂.

...and now BPI

Guess the FDA is just going to pick these 503(b) facilities off one-by-one now, I guess?

"First they came for the 503(b) pharmacies..."
That does look like their plan. Apothecary Pharma is another 503b compounding pure tirz , same strength as ProRX. They picked up most of the unfilled orders from ProRX. They could be the next on the list.

I honestly didn't pay him a lot of attention at first because their prices and entire platform was so over the top ridiculous that why would I? I didn't need my hand held. I damn sure wasn't making an appointment and speaking to someone on the phone.

It wasn't until the ProRx 483 thing that I started noticing him because every post seemed like he was posturing himself as this inside man who totally works super closely with the big dogs at the FDA and has all this secret info regarding tirz production. And then he admitted his main job is wealth management and my alarms went off.

My current question regarding him is, why, out of all telehealth owners, would BPI tell him anything? He is not the biggest. He is definitely not loyal to any one pharmacy. He is super small potatoes in the GLP1 world. Yet he's still regurgitating the same spiel of, "I have it on good authority BPI wasn't stopped by the FDA. They're bringing different products to market. I stand by what I said. Prices will continue to go down! (except for ours cause we charge more than anyone else shhh) This is NOT like ProRx."

And he may be right and I'll eat my words, I'm not that petty, I can admit I was wrong. I HOPE for all those people who will never go grey and depend on this shit that he's right. But none of it makes any sense.

Figured as much. Some people love him, some people not so much. I'm probably dating myself by saying this, but Dave reminds me of the guy from the Hair Club For Men when he said in his advertisements "I'm not only the president of Hair Club for Men.... I'm also a client".

Dave is not only the owner/president/ceo (whatever he is) of Big Easy Weight Loss, he's also a client.

Wont this all just drive more people to Grey?
You'd be genuinely shocked at the amount of people in that subreddit who are completely, totally, almost morally opposed to gray. I've literally seen some users call those who go grey creeps or weirdos or basically say that we're buying fentanyl and we're all gonna die from gray market GLPs. This isn't even much of an exaggeration.
