What tipped the scale for you in your decision to stack your GLP with another or add in an amylin?

How much Cag did you add in, any sides?
I did 0.25mg first week. 2nd week 0.375mg. No side effects at these low doses so far. I do notice increase in appetite suppression at about 48 hours after dosing. I'm taking it 3 days after my tirz dose, so I know the peak in appetite suppression isn't from the tirz.

I had originally been maintaining on 12mg of reta but after starting a steroid cycle I found that this became untenable and I was having a lot of days where my calorie intake was grossly in excess of my target. I was putting on weight that I didn’t want to, in fact I wanted to slowly lower my weight but that wasn’t happening. I increased my reta dose to 24mg. This was successful in that it balanced out the steroids enough that I could maintain my weight, but slow weight loss was still unmanageable despite my best efforts. After a couple months of that (it wasn’t bad, just not ideal) I lowered my reta dose back to 12mg and threw in an ancillary that I thought would help. This has been more successful so far and I’ve been able to cut my weight since making that change.

Reta 2.5mg twice a week for a few months now. Food noise was gone from the start and I lost 40 lbs quickly. Food noise has been slowly returning lately though but thankfully just for protein-rich foods - but I worry the return of hunger pangs may be a slipperty slope back into chocolate, chips, fries, cookies and ice cream. As a result, some tirz is on the way so I'll slip that slowly and quietly into the protocol to see how that inpacts cravings. I'm also several weeks (10 weeks today) into 2.0 mgs of Tesa on a daily basis hoping that would speed up the disappearance of visceral fat but the results have not been dramatic.
Can we actually see visceral fat? I was under the impression it's hidden inside us, hugging our organs but not visible, like a pouchy belly?

Hi everyone 🙂

I am at a point now where I have to make a decision here soon. There are plenty of good options for me, but I want to hear why you chose the route you chose.

For those of you who stayed on a non-max dose of your GLP-1 and added in another GLP or Amylin, instead of titrating up, can you tell me why? What factors did you consider before you decided?

(I did search the forum, if there is already a post about this, I am sorry 😢 )
My "choice" is mostly irrational. I rely on feels -- intuition rather than reason.

I've been on a low dose of tirz (1 - 1.5) since December. When I hit a plateau, I don't know why but I added reta (slowly) instead of increasing the tirz. It helped.

Some weeks I haven't taken any tirz. Today I took 2mg tirz + 2.5mg reta (all that was left in the vial). This was about 19 days since my last shot.

I'm not dropping weight these days, probably bc I'm not eating enough. After a lifetime of trying to eat less, I seem to be constitutionally unable to eat now unless I have an appetite. It's a problem : /

I added 2mg/day Tesamorelin to 4-5mg/wk Retatrutide for belly reduction. Worked well. I've finished up all my Tesa and unless the current Reta dose of 6mg/wk can't keep the belly down, I'm done with it.

My case may be unique due to high dose prednisone and Hydrocortisone for disease management. Pred and Hydro (a similar corticosteroid) are well known to directly cause weight gain, large belly and moon face, in much the same way as Addison's disease does.
Did you have any side effects from combing those two ?

No we cant see it lol. It is deep inside hugging the organs and causing problems like an ex that wont go away. Your subcutaneous fat is what you can grab and pinch lol

I have an Amazon scale to weigh in daily and produce lots of graphs that I review and think about daily on my phone. I'm about 30 pounds away from my goal weight and still losing. According to the scale graphs, my visceral fat is in the normal range. Subcutaneous fat, I have some work to do there.

In my own mind, I put this down to my Reta 4mg weekly shot. I have zero facts to back my opinion up but that's what I believe.

none so far...if any thing RHR and BP were a skoosh lower than normal. The only added feels were a little more burping and a bit of throat 'feel', almost like acid reflux, but no acid reflux if that makes sense...
The stuff is weird. I did my HR and BP this morning. HR was 73, but will likely get to 80 when I get doing stuff, BP was 128/78.

Yep, it can be quite visible depending on how much we're carrying around. Subcutaneous fat is the stuff we can pinch betweeen our fingers on the belly, love handles, butt, etc. Visceral fat is that hard protruding belly in those of us who have too much, although some people can aappear slim but still have visceral fat. My personal experience has been that the subq stuff went quickly. leaving behind sagging skin, but I still have that damn belly. My smart scale tells me I still have an uncceptable amount of visceral fat... while my AI buddy, Copilot, tells me not to rely on a smart scale cuz it's not actually smart enough to be able to accurately determine how much visceral fat I have. So all I have for evidence of unnacceptable level of visceral fat is that reflection in the mirror!

Nothing significant, just minor things. A bit of water retention during Tesa use. Goes away after the cycle. I could feel it working initially, like a tingling feeling. Also a few minutes after Tesa injection a strange dry cough and odd feeling in sinuses. I asked an AI and it reported back that others have said similar things. Lasted only a brief time. Then smooth sailing.

You can get a Dexa scan, which will be very accurate. Then you can compare your smartscale results to see where it excels or fails.

I’m less optimistic about the accuracy of DEXA scans. I’ve seen a lot of people with DEXA scan results showing very low body fat percentages after major weight loss; results that are inconsistent with their visual presentation. I am one of them.

Right now I’m trying to test that hypothesis by burning my lean mass on DEXA. My last scan a couple weeks ago put me at 7.2% body fat at 206 pounds. That’s 14.8 lbs of fat mass and 182.8 pounds of lean mass. I should look like a bodybuilder with a bunch of loose skin hanging from my stomach, I actually look like a guy who could still afford to lose some belly fat. My plan is to drop another 35 pounds (over twice my estimated fat mass) or until I look like a jacked shar-pei.

If I’m correct about DEXA struggling to measure my body fat, I should lose the apparent stomach fat and most of my loss will be “lean mass” in my lower torso. If I’m wrong I’d expect to lose a lot of skeletal muscle and retain the gut. We’ll see how this goes!

Did you slowly work up from 12mg to 24mg of Reta? I’m at 10 and going to have to bump

up soon. That’s a long way from 24, but I seem to have to max out on GLP’s for them to have any beneficial effect on me.

Still WNL though, I don’t wanna use all my leverage tools so early on, but I’m nervous to get to my max dose of Tirz too soon too! 🤣
I did my HR and BP the other afternoon to see if there was a difference. BP was 101/68 and HR was 68. I'm pretty happy with that. I'll do my afternoon later, today is pin day.

This Reta stuff is interesting. I hit goal at 10mg a few weeks ago, and have dropped to 6mg for 2 weeks and 8mg for 1 week. I seem to be holding steady bouncing around 1-2lbs a week. I was worried I'd keep losing. My point is holding on certain dose you may just plateau. That's why we titrate up when we seem to stall on a dose. Who knows. Just a thought from my pea brain.

I seem to respond differently to GLP’s. I have never worried about losing too much, or too quickly. I am not a strong responder — I worry will I lose any weight at any dose lol. Admittedly, I don’t have much to lose anymore, and some would even question why I am taking anything. Reta/tirz if nothing else has helped me kick a binge problem for the most part. I still slip up occasionally, but nothing compared to my worst.

Just hit my 3 rd year. Took 2yr to lose the 110 lbs. 1 year of maintenance so far. I still take Tirz, 10 mg, Sema, 2 mg and Cagri 2 mg. All done weekly or every 8 days. I am always chasing appetite supression and this works well for me. Used to be constipated but not any more, just stopped for unknown reason ( didn’t change anything). I was so cold without the Cagri but that seems to warm me up.

No. I did 12 one week, 18 the next, and 24 the week after. I’ve never had any side effects and have been on 12 for a very long time so wasn’t particularly worried about the increase. Those higher doses seem to have a lot less incremental effect than the low ones.

I tried Cagri for a different receptor bump. Coincidence or not, on my first/second day of vacation last year, I got really sick for 24 hours after taking my 3rd very low dose. So, I stopped taking it.

I decided to add Survo. It's been good to me and gotten me to goal. Now I have a new goal and am about to titrate the Survo.

Schedule: every 6 days Tz 10, every 6 days Survo 1.5. 3 day offset.

I added survo to my tirz a month or so ago. I initially started with no offset, and think I am going to switch to offset days over the next few weeks. I feel like they hit pretty hard together, and I really need a late week bump.
