What diagnostic testing should I do after researching with glp1's? Someone was nice enough to share some links to labs and the prices are great. I had tests done in August with my pcp so they are current before research started. At what time should the test be done?

Great, now you got ME looking at the labs. I was fine and unworried, now this! Anyway, following.

LOL sorry. I thought I saw somewhere on here that labs should be done. 🫤

It is always prudent to get a baseline of most basic markers like lipids, glucose, and especially thyroid, etc. before starting something.

For GLPs, the changes and specifically the improvement seen over a 3-9 months period is motivating enough outside of weight loss.

It depends on 1) your medical history and background, 2) what you're interested in testing or tracking, and 3) how much you want to spend. There really is no end to testing but, kind of like peptides, can lead to rabbit holes.

Typically their Baseline Advanced panel is a good place to start for a very general overview. However, I poked around on their site and found this panel that someone put together. It's pretty solid panel, looks at quite a few markers spanning glucose regulation, tissue breakdown specific to GLP-1 agonists, general markers (CBC and CMP), and a few other markers. ht tps://www.ultalabtests.com/test/mounjaro-tirzepatide-monitoring-and-diabetes-control-panel (They used other drug names for what appear to be the same panels).

If it were me, that's probably what I'd run. No more frequent than every three months, and no longer than every six, depending on the dosage, medicine, and reasons for using it.

Incidentally, these are legitimate labs, usually using either Quest or LabCorp, and if something funny comes up, you can take it to your doctor.

As was mentioned before, Lipid Panel for cholesterol is a major one. There are others but big improvement in lipids is super encouraging - at least it was for me.

If one goes to Labcorp.com or RequestATest.com (which uses Labcorp and Quest labs), one can find a plethora of applicable tests.
