I'm keen to get an opinion from some of the longstanding or experienced members.

Seems that Reta is working well at lower doses than the trials , much lower .

I'm wondering if this is symptomatic that members here may be starting out at initial weights far lower than the manufacturer trials .

Thus a 350 pound starter may need the higher dose to have an effect , simply due to larger body mass . They may require up to 9-12mg

Thus someone starting at 200 pounds may not need that much and 2-4mg would have similar effects.

This seems reasonable, if starting weight was150 pounds I can't see that higher does would be needed simply by virtue of the lower body mass.

I'm new here this is just an observation from some of the experiences I've seen here . I could be totally wrong , and I'm happy to admit I make more mistakes than most .
I just finished 4 weeks at 2mg. Lost 16.8 lbs. No food noise and I can eat macros. I was tempted to go to 4mg but was feeling the 2mg well so stayed at 2mg.

I started at 209lbs and want to get to 170s.

I wondered about my size versus OG test subjects too. I would disappear at higher doses, I think.

Cut over from 15mg of Tirz. Titrated down over a month 12.5, 10, 6, 3, then 0. Started at 1mg for Reta, then 2, 3, 4. Currently this week I'm planning to stay at 4mg Reta and stack .5mg Cargi mid-week and see how that goes. So far, I've lost 5lbs this month after a stall on Tirz. Plan only to titrate up if I stall.

FYI - SW 295 in Nov 2024 when I started Tirz. Currently 216lbs. GW 190lbs. So, it's in sight!

Injected 2mg today, second week of my reta journey. My hunger already went down 2 days after I started on 1mg and I got full fast, although it I felt hunger coming back on the 5th day.

Today, hours after injecting my second dose, I felt full after eating half of a very small bowl of pasta. Also had to force feed myself a little bread with some cold cuts. Feeling pretty good other than that.

My husband also took his second dose today. He hasn’t felt any change, also doesn’t feel sick. He’s still very much hungry and can eat for the both of us now. I honestly seem to be responding extremely well to both Reta and CU. The latter doesn’t even sting or burn for me.

Week 9, I am now on 1mg every 3 days. Due to the half life, this maintains approx a 3mg saturation.
1mg per week, 0.5 mg monday and thursday in the morning

When I started my GLP journey in Jan of 2025 I was using compounded Tirz had no idea of Grey then. Starting weight 215 m. 5'9" 58 yr old one year later at target weight of 165

The rub is a lot of the weight I lost was muscle.
Hey, TRS123. I'm in week 5 of 2mg. 52yrs, same height and 210lb for starting weight. How did you know you lost muscle. I'm obviously cautious about not losing muscle but I'm not "muscle-y". I don't body build. I have muscle from a life of physical work (truck loading/ live event install and tear down).

I should say that I'm rocking the high protein /low carb with whole foods and protein shakes.

I walk daily, do yoga in the mornings and do leg strengthening that my PT has me on.

Should I do more resistance? I'm open to it for sure. The yoga, for me, is a lot of push up style moves and position holding where I feel the burn.

A question to the group, how would I track subtle muscle loss?

I take .5mg every 5 days which averages out to 0.7mg a week but not exact with half lives and the such.

36 y/o male started at 218 down to 203 currently 1 month in. 26% bf down to 23 current

Did two weeks of 2mg/week. Currently at 4mg / week, split 2mg on Mondays and Thursdays. I'll do that for 4 weeks total, then titrate up to 6mg for 4 weeks, then 8.

The fact that it is subtle loss of muscle makes it hard to recognize it is happening. I was never muscle-y either but average strength from physical work. After a year I know I’m not as strong when I working and my thigh muscle get stained quickly when carry things up a set of steps. My arm strength and muscle mass is down quite a bit

My suggestion is slow down the amount of weight you loose per month. I was dropping several pounds a week early on

I am in my fourth month on Reta, and currently doing 3.5 1x per week. 4-4.5 is probably closer to ideal though. I'm at the end of a vial, and the last shot will be 4. I'll move to 4.5 if that doesn't seem to be adequate. I took 5 a couple of weeks ago, and that was too much. There is definitely a learning curve to this stuff. I went from dosing every other day to once a week in about a two week period, and really had to rethink and rework EVERYTHING.

Yes. 16.8 in 4 weeks is 4.2 per week. I was reading that anything over a pound per week is likely muscle. I think I only have another month on 2mg and then I will titrate down.

I know everyone is different but I read a lot of posts where people start at low doses and don't need to titrate up that high of a dose.

I'm curious as to if people go all the way up to 12mg like in the clinical trials, if if they have reaped most benefits at lower doses.

So my question is:

How long have you been taking Reta for?

Where along are you in your journey?

What is your current dosage?
I'm at 3 mg.

Im on 5mg going to 6 mg this week. Pin every 6 days and gym 4-5 days a week. I’m down 63 lbs. SW was 270 and today was 207. Goal is 190 to go into healthy BMI I’m also doing Cagrilintide 1.5mg per week for food noise.

I am on 2.5 MG weekly. I titrated up from .5 ,.75, 1 and up weekly. Most people don’t do it this why and I don’t necessarily think it’s better in anyway it’s just what I did. I’ve lost 15 pounds so far and it has been amazing! My goal is to get down to 200 lbs. started at 232 woke up 217 this morning. I have only felt sides once and it was when I first pinned 2.5mg but it only lasted 1 day.

I started on Jan 20th and am taking 1mg every 5 days. I lost 4 lbs so far, so I'll stay here as I don't have much to lose. I definitely go from being hungry, to getting full fast, to having food aversions - all in the same day, so reta is doing things, but it's not like my wife who is on tirz who can barely eat (and all she does is sleep). MUCH prefer having a normal life w/ reta
