IT's incredible how much the teeth can cause problems!! I got all my root canals removed because of almost that exact same scenario.janedoe said:My goodness, so true! I know first hand! So 2 years ago, I had one of my crazy sinus infections, went thru 2 rounds of Augmentin w/ my ENT, etc. So, I go to the dentist 2x a year, teeth in great shape. Good dental hygiene. Had 1 cavity in 12 years. Anyhow, doing my x-rays 2 years ago (after my ENT visits), my dentist " saw a shadow", way up above the right side, above my cheek, but no dental issues evidenced. I had no pain, nothing swollen, etc. He knew of my sinus problems and though he's not a fan of root canals, he suggested it bc he said it was right next to the upper sinus cavity, and it may relieve my issues. He was very clear to tell me, he could not say if the issue was the sinus infection or actually issues with the root of my eyetooth that caused infection. (The chicken/ egg issue) , but was clear that either way, both senerios would cause issues both ways.
I went for the root canal and within a few weeks, I was fine. It was amazing. 2 years almost, no issues. I see him 2x a year and all was good. Now since January, it's happening again, it's crazy. I have my 6 month dental appt coming up. I can't wait to go!
I felt great after getting them, but then things started flaring up a few years later. I was getting histamine reactions so bad to every single thing I ate, swollen and reddened face, limb swelling, plus plenty of sinus congestion and environmental allergy reactions.
The NIGHT I got my first set of root canals pulled, my histamine reactions went down by 50%. I got the rest out and several years of food sensitivities reduced pretty dramatically.
I hope you get everything cleared up!! It's such an under-discussed topic, especially with sinus issues.
