Please don't use Exodus on Windows unless you are 10000% certain of your PC's security. (And even then...)

I am new to this whole world and didn't know it is not safe to use exodus on my computer. I downloaded exodus on my phone and can't even figure out how to get logged in to my wallet.Gr33dyOctopus said:

Any digital platform can be compromised including mobile phones. I use Exodus just long enough to move crypto in and out for transactions and leave almost zero balance there. I am not worried about using the windows desktop any more than I am for my android phone (equally cautious). If I leave crypto anywhere it's on coinbase but working on a hardware wallet. I just did the same with Eth. I linked my checking account to one of the big exchanges by downloading the exchange's App on my phone. I also setup my wallet with Exodus by downloading their App. This way my Eth is purchased via the big exchange and then moved to the Exodus wallet from where I can pay a vendor. It took some time but I used AI to help me ... which which provided insanely accurate step by step instructions every time I told it my next decision within the respective App
I use a Trezor Safe 3. If you go the hardware wallet route, make sure you make yourself a fire proof seed phrase back up. If you have more questions about this, let me know.Zeptide said:

Can't you just purchase a little ETH in Kraken and send to your Cake wallet? Then you'll have gas funds available for any USDT transfers on ERC-20.muhvugga said:
And if you're still learning, make sure to do a few trial transfers to wallet first. It's a cheap way to get familiar with the process and avoid stupid mistakes. I accidentally used the wrong default network on a transfer sent to my wallet ERC-20 address. Oops. I was lucky that Base and ERC-20 use the same address so was able to find and recover my crypto after several minutes of panic. Could have gone very wrong if sent to a Sol or Tron address.
Hey, so yes - that’s exactly what I’m doing. I’m now waiting out the 7 day hold on funds transferred into Kraken to finish, and then fund ETH wallet in addition to the ERC20 to move forward.Bioexplorer said:

Definitely still learning, but I’m at least already comfortable with migrating funds to wallets, sending test transfers, and making payments from wallets, and trying to account for fees, but was accustomed to the fees being drawn from of the same type of funds that were being sent. I made the mistake of assuming that the same would be true for USDT (that the fees would be paid in from USDT).
