Oh my gosh, me too! I swear I just got bumped up to Apprentice and immediately felt like someone handed me a slightly fancier hat and said, “Congrats, you now know… marginally more than before.”

I also arrived here looking like a lost tourist clutching a map upside‑down, so seeing that little rank upgrade felt like winning an Oscar for “Best Attempt at Not Panicking.”

Totally with you on the gratitude — the community has been ridiculously kind, patient, and willing to explain things I definitely should’ve understood the first three times.

Here’s to us slowly leveling up, pretending we know what we’re doing, and eventually becoming the wise elders who say things like, “Back in my newbie days…”

From what I understand, the chosen ones meet in a very secret castle somewhere. Apprentices like us are not yet cleared for that level of classified information.

I actually appreciate that structure too. It encourages people to take the time to read, learn, and understand the rules. As a newcomer, it also helped me feel that the community values thoughtful participation, and it helps keep out some of the more disruptive or harmful behavior.

I agree,sometimes I look at what kids are learning today and think ‘there’s no way I was doing that at that age!’ My brain definitely learns better by practice than by theory. I went for a language‑focused track because, honestly, grammar (Italian and Latin included) and books make way more sense to me than formulas and math ever will!

Toured Italy back in 73. Monaco when no race going. Fancy restaurant on the beach in Nice,,,they didn't know how to make ravioli's, Fact it was really hard to find a good pizza any where. 1st restaurant we came across in Italy we stopped for Spaghetti, somptin lost in the translation there. Spent a whole afternoon laying aroun under the Leanin Tower of Piza. Best Italian food was found in Germany. Good Times..
