I also didn't care for their nakedness in the fridge. I save the nakedness for me skipping around the house. I will give you a moment to get that image out of your head and instead share this image of the silicon caps I got on Amazon. These are the ones that fit the 3mm peptide vials. I also got the same thing in 5mm and they fit my open BAC bottle.

I have these ones as well, they are so cute and they look like little chef hats! I actually find it pretty handy to do some color coding, I chose green for the energy peps like mots, pink is healing for ARA or BPC, purple is skin and hair health, red is bedroom... It kind of helps me keep my stack balanced, in a way!

No, I don't. My reconned vials go in my "working" box that holds 8 vials. I've never hit 8 in use. The box goes in the fridge and I just wipe the top, before and after.

I got some 3mL silicone vial caps on amazon, but they were WAY too big for my vials.

I use the flexible vial caps, ordered them from Etsy. I got both sizes so I could cap my BAC and NAD as well.
Wow! Thank you! I didn't know that exist!

Mine go in a sealed ziplock bag in yhe fridge. These cap things are silly.

Good grief, some of you gravely overthink these things.
Or some people actually enjoy this and it becomes something of a hobby. People like to invest time and care (and money) into the things they enjoy. It makes them happy. Don't be such a killjoy.

But if it is something that is pointless and unnecessary, and if it is something that someone may see and assume that they no longer need to wipe the top of the vial anymore, then it becomes something of a problem.

Which no one here is talking about. If fact, the thread states just the opposite. If you just want to critize and pick fights, I would suggest hearing over to Reddit. You'll fit in better there.

No one directly said it, but someone is going to think it; in the name of infection control, again, it’s worth mentioning.

Someone pointed out how no medical stores carry these. That’s a fair point akin to what I was saying. I’m not picking fights, and if you are offended over something so trivial I suggest you look inward.

Even if that all had not been said already, which it had, you didn't say any of it. You just made a dismissive statement towards everyone who posted in the thread. I haven't been around that long, but one of the things I like about this forum is that it is a positive place and people keep things polite and constructive even when they disagree. I would like you to he successful here so I hope you will keep that in mind. I'll end my involvement in this thread and conversation there.

When I started using compounded, they came in resealable bags like ziplock, so that is what I continue to use in my kitchen fridge. Back when I gave my dog insulin, the vial came in a vial sized box and I stored it in that box, I figured the box was decent protection from someone dropping it.

I wouldn't use caps unless someone came up with an antibacterial cap that didn't damage the stopper and could be recapped until the vial has been fully used.

I bought some empty vials which I did not really end up using as much as I thought I would which came with little plastic tops that fit, so I just use those.

Yes, no matter what kind of 'little hat' you put on a vial, the alcohol swabbing must still take place...

I use the small ceramic containers from this yogurt maker. The lid has a silicone seal.

One for the vial that’s currently open, one for BAC water, one as a disposal container for the needles. (And one for salt. For yogurt, I only use the large glass jars.)

I mark them with stars or red dots so I don’t mix them up.

I’ve placed bubble wrap all around inside; the vial sits securely in the middle without anything touching the rubber. Some time ago, I started adding the used disinfectant wipe before putting it in the fridge - because why not. By the time I use it again a week later, it’s dry. May or may not improve the desinfection.

It definitely won’t improve the disinfection, and may cause a problem if what you just wiped was dirty.

There is no benefit to doing that, and only possibly a negative.

I personally don't put anything on top of the vial. I just disinfect the top before and after drawing up my med. We've never used vial covers for medications in clinic so I never thought about buying one.

But, I would recommend using a container to keep them separate from whatever you're storing them with.

Medical stores don't sell to people who keep their supplies in a fridge with food. Hospitals also don't keep their meals in the med fridge or their meds in the food fridge.

If something makes people feel like they are reducing risk, and is not harming you (or themselves), there shouldn't be an issue. Your scenario implying people won't still wipe vials is just silly.

To use your own quote "if you are offended by something so trivial I suggest you look inward" and maybe step away from the keyboard.

had to quote it twice do to getting an error saying my post went against rules. For some reason, 2 quotes stopped it
