Medical stores don't sell to people who keep their supplies in a fridge with food. Hospitals also don't keep their meals in the med fridge or their meds in the food fridge.

If something makes people feel like they are reducing risk, and is not harming you (or themselves), there shouldn't be an issue. Your scenario implying people won't still wipe vials is just silly.

To use your own quote "if you are offended by something so trivial I suggest you look inward" and maybe step away from the keyboard.

had to quote it twice do to getting an error saying my post went against rules. For some reason, 2 quotes stopped it

The thing is, however, is that it could be harming them — you are ignorant and wrong for assuming that something like that is entirely impossible of causing any harm.

It’s not a silly scenario, either, because it is a very real possibility. Do you have any personal medical experience?? I used to work in healthcare. I had coworkers who thought since meds were stored in a sealed, sterile cabinet, that absolved them from needing to wipe the top of the vial.

I actually did work in the medical field, for quite a long time.

There are stupid people everywhere.

If people are not wiping their vials, that is another issue, no matter the reason. They have bigger issues unrelated to the subject at hand.

If someone is wiping their vials and chooses to cover it, (and it bothers you) then thats your issue. There are no studies showing harm, just theories, and unless those studies are done in a home fridge with moldy food they don't really apply here.

Initially I used to store some vials in medicine bottles (compounded meds) and the rs grays in ziplocks on a condiment door shelf. I have received some vial caps over the orders (and also found that the sodastream CO2 cannister pink caps fit the larger vials) so I'd repurpose those to keep things capped. But I wasn't super happy with that in-use storage, for germ reasons and also visibility by everyone opening the fridge. I have since bought a soft silicone container with a lid and vial holder insert for the fridge, so all of my in-use research vials go in there and are protected and not visible within the silicone container. I go back and forth if the vial caps are better or worse than not using them, for reasons already stated in this thread by others. But since I'm using alcohol before and after each access on the lids and given them time to dry, I think the moisture in the caps is minimal and may serve to protect from a random airborn germ floating by while the container is open. I don't put the caps on tightly within the storage container, just really to limit direct exposure.)

Since I've started actively filtering ALL vials on recon, all the sterile new vials I filter into are the same size, so it will make in-use storage a little easier going forward since I won't have 5ml vials and then larger GLOW vials (10mg?) all in the same space. I'm currently working through 10mg steriles but next supplies order I think I will switch to 5mg steriles and just filter the bigger Glows and Klows into two 5mg vials upon filtering. The reason being is that there's probably slightly less cootie exposure by having less extra air in the 5mg vials vs the 10. For whatever reason, last time I bought empty steriles the 10mg were cheaper than the 5s.

Yes, you are picking fights -- everyday you are picking fights, and sassing back when people are asking you to be nice.

Since you haven't read them yet, or haven't comprehended them, I will quote this for you from

B. BE NICE (a/k/a DON'T BE AN ASSHOLE): Witty sarcasm and healthy, meaningful debate (sometimes peppered with a little "Tough Love") are one thing, but there is no reason for intentional arguing, harassment, bullying, name-calling, etc. Everyone is expected to act like adults. If you don't like someone or something they're saying, just move along peacefully. You can disagree without being disagreeable. Being nice is usually a lot easier and less stressful than being a jerk.

You are mistaking my literality and directness with negativity. Again, I’m not picking fights. I do have a lack of patience for ignorance, but it’s not my fault if people choose to get offended when presented with correction.

If just being direct, laughing at every post (who's ideas differ from your own) isn't a normal response.

Heads up, It looks like he has created a second account to "like" his own posts and "laugh" at others.

Oh and literality isn't a real word.

If I was storing my vials in the same refrigerated air/space as my raw meats, rotting leftovers, coli, listeria, salmonella, staph, fungi, etc; I'd store my reconstituted vials individually in medicine bottles, which is something I've seen done in the medical field.

Kitchen refrigerators are, in general, nasty breeding grounds.
I keep mine in a case in the fridge. Nothing else goes in the drawer they're in unless absolutely unavoidable.

But if it is something that is pointless and unnecessary, and if it is something that someone may see and assume that they no longer need to wipe the top of the vial anymore, then it becomes something of a problem.
Who are you correcting? If it's not something that is causing harm why are you so vested in it? Nobody, not one person said that they don't wipe the vial tops before using. I use the vial caps because I feel better having the tops covered, my choice. I actually have those vial caps labeled, when I open my box I can see what each in use vial is. When I finish that vial I reconstitute the next and the labeled cap goes on it. So they are not pointless to me.

I keep open vials in a little snapware container. Keeps it all separate and sealed from everything else.

I use this 15 slot zip up essential oil case in the refrigerator with my reconstituted peps in it. Keeps the light off them and somewhat protects them. You don’t need a vial cap cover thing. Then store the rest in hydrapeak food jar with vial insets in freezer
