Just a theoretical question. I feel like the news about RFK softening the stance taken on peptides, and being okay with them “officially” being compounded. Theoretically, let’s say this happens. I have a work HSA, as does my wife. Could we theoretically “shop around” the more reputable places and get peptides paid for by HSA? We have a decent amount stored up, and even at the bloated rates, I feel like we could get the non-GLPs for at least a year, maybe 18 months, for no out of pocket cost.

Or, will it remain technically questionable, and be a direct pay situation always?

I wouldn't spend HSA money on something I could buy for a fraction of the price grey market... your risk tolerance is up to you.

Don't do that. You're throwing good investment money away on a 10x overpriced item essentially killing the benefit of having an hsa.

That would be like going to the hospital just to buy some ibuprofen.

This is a good point. Sometimes I don’t consider the “utility” of a purchase. Rather, with this specifically, I’ve bought 2 kits since finally going through with buying, and now that I have storage and supplies, I might just be over-glamorizing the idea of “adding to my stockpile”. Realistically I’m going for 2 years worth of my commonly used peptides, but I really wouldn’t mind 3-4 years.

You’re absolutely right. After reflecting on it, if I were to do this, I’m really just mortgaging my future, so to speak. After 2021, through some surgeries and all the scans needed for a certain diagnosis, I haven’t had an out-of-pocket cost over $1250/annually. Truth be told, I am 40 now. It would be unfortunate to blow a $3500 savings on MAYBE 10-15 vials if I’m lucky. Keeping it for the inevitable mega-health cost year and protecting myself financially does make far more sense.

I want to thank everyone who took the time to read and thoughtfully reply. This community is incredibly supportive, helpful, and even tolerant when it comes to my gaps in information, or poorly thought out ideas/questions. I really look forward to paying this forward as I continue to learn here.

I think I may have just got an impulsive idea in my head, trying to also put a positive spin on something I think is overall negative.

I think I’ve spent over $3000 in 5 months, on maybe 16 vials from single vial vendors. Now, I’ve spent less than 10% of that on GLPs, the more expensive of the peptides. 2 kits. 25% more vials than my previous purchases for slightly less than 10% of what I paid in the past. I think I hit the eye-opener phase of being a forum member, learning what I’ve learned. I am just extremely excited about possibilities, especially with the success I’ve had with improving quality of life in a relatively short period of time with some of these peptides. Thanks for keeping me grounded and realistic. This community is fantastic. Very grateful to be a part of it!

I have 7200mg of Tirz and 5600mg of Reta on order, combined cost of something like $2600ish.

That’s roughly 18 years of max trial dose, 10% overfill, if you’re into that, would make it over 20 years.

Woah! I thought I was cool with 300 mg tirz stored, and 200 mg Reta on the way.

So, with 20 years of max trial stuff, I know the stuff doesn’t “spoil” per se, but does potency levels significantly decrease after 10 years, the magical number I’ve heard? At that 10 year mark, what is T’s potency? Does it drop linearly, or exponentially after? Various AI models are less than helpful at the moment for me. While talking doses, one mentioned “40000 - 50000 mcg per dose”, for KPV, subcutaneous. After several frustrated prompts, it admitted fault, saying it was off by a multiple of 100.

I don't know. The 10 year thing is from Janoshik testing HGH he found in his garage... freezer I assume, that had been forgotten. I don't recall the degradation specifically, but it was apparently negligible.

Since Tirz has only be around for a decade or so, it's impractical to "know", especially when you factor in tolerances of manufacturing, vial seals, storage conditions, etc.

What I know for certain is Tirz in the hand "works" infinitely better than Tirz not in hand, regardless of the time in the freezer. 🤣
