New study out today. It's a good thing I'm an old fart and I don't care what anyone thinks anymore.

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2026-05-glp-paradox-weight-loss-drugs.html

Practically a commercial for going grey or compounded, by discussing the stigma of weight regain when no longer able to afford GLPs.

This is only the stuff they admit enough to share.

Inwardly, those judgy bastards were judging us all along the way. Who cares? I feel great!

Being thin is a social status object, so cheating to increase social status by using drugs, is treated negatively, and because it is then a false social status due to drugs, it is considered worse than not losing the weight?

The logic of human social status related behaviour is intrinsically disturbing. And built into our brains at a deep level.

The worst part , is not the general public or even family members having open or not so visible bigotry, but the medical profession, which has always treated obese persons badly, and I would guess it is partly they are just as bigoted as everyone else, and partly the fact that they could not treat the problem, so tended to find it extra frustrating. I think medical attitudes will slowly improve now there are drugs that work, but very few patients who could benefit from GLP's get them suggested by doctors, when up to half the population might be helped by them.

This kind of attitude comes mostly from shame and ego. Ever notice how people who have successfully lost weight tend to judge larger people more harshly? Similar to the hate that the first friend to lose weight gets from the others? Judgemental people didn't just choose that trait off the shelf when they leveled up, it comes from somewhere.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I say F them.

Seriously guys. This is exactly why I don't discuss PEDs with anyone. Some irony here is that I can be open about eating shrooms but I can't talk about using GLPs with anyone around me because I know for a fact it wouldn't get a positive response. And the double irony is that I would be judged by the same people who have routinely declined my invitation to come to the gym.

Exactly, it's about how you feel. The medications we take are no ones business.

They can write a hundred billion hand-wringing what-will-the-neighbors-think morality-play hit pieces, the meso bros can sit around congratulating each other for not being on a "crutch," and the most southern women I know can tut tut and make cat butt faces for decades until they literally die mad about it, and I will STILL never get off my bullshit, be out there yelling "LA LA LA, HOORAY FOR TIRZEPATIDE, have you SEEN me lately? HELL YEAH, don't look in my freezer cause get your own."

People are going to judge us no matter what we do. If someone in my life is judging me so harshly for my choices about my body that it actually affects my life, then they don't deserve to be a part of it. I feel amazing, so they can just fuck right the hell off!

I disagree. The evolutionary logic is perfectly sound. The problem is that those with substandard prefrontal cortex development would be hard-pressed to apply logic.

I concur wholeheartedly.

And this is precisely why I say that the possession of some degree is nothing more than an argument from authority fallacy. It doesn't confer any actual intelligence. On the contrary, they're more likely to be indoctrinated and allergic to reason. Ergo, their positional authority then makes their lack of judiciousness even more egregious.

Exactly. This is clear evidence of conditioning where they have been programmed to believe the traditionally accepted method is the only legitimate one. There's a reason why many posit that 98% of the general populace ascribe to the sheep mold.

Why give them pleasure, spicy dude? Let them be HDQed.

Interesting supposition. I think I would put it down to envy, the true mother of all sins.

And finally, this is why I would never give an iota of time to those who bleat when I can roar.
