So my son is 31 years old and lives about 5 hours away from me. We went to visit last weekend as I was having withdrawal from seeing my 2 year old grandson. Stay with me…We were having dinner and suddenly my son said “are you on a discord?” He acted shocked because evidently he only used one to play video games with his buddies. Sooooo I just told him I used one to buy some cosmetic items (which IS true)! Next question was “are you buying from China?” I said yes but perfectly legal. He’s definitely on to me!! Moral of the story….KEEP YOUR PHONES MUTED! 😂😂

YES! I did not know that the discord notification “ding” was unique to discord. I do NOW!

There are OTHER apps with giveaway "dings" that are worse!

OMG I feel for you, I hate being interrogated by my 31-year-old daughter! She can be scary when she's looking out for my welfare, LOL. So not only have I made sure that notifications are off on *all* my "secret" apps — but you should see the lengths I go to to hide the app icons. They're deep into the later screens of a boring-looking crowded home screen folder called "Miscellaneous." 😎 I wasn't a child of the '70s for nothing.
