Hello everyone,

I have been on Reta now for 8 weeks and I have noticed my skin getting somewhat worse. I always have had acne prone skin, but try my very hardest to keep it under control.

Since starting reta I have noticed an increase in breakouts, despite keeping up with my skincare routine and hydration.

I know that reta can cause rashes etc, but has anyone noticed acne?

I would guess that this is symptomatic of weight loss/calorie deficit vs reta itself. No data to back that up. Just a guess.

Your fat cells store more than just calories. When you lose weight all the hormones and toxins that is stored with those calories is released as well. This will result in mood swings and unfortunately acne.

That makes sense, thank you!

I just started about a week ago and have noticed the same thing...It's lovely isn't it?

As mentioned already, fat cells do store toxins. Usually your liver should be able to process these though (unless the weight loss is very rapid and it becomes too much to handle all at once). Make sure to drinks lots of water, eat clean and nutritious. Also pooping well is important haha which I'm aware can be a struggle on Reta lol

Oh yea I'm drinking a lotttttt of water, and electrolytes.

My skin has just always been prone to acne so I should of known even reta (or the subsequent weight loss) causes a flare up.
